Beauty Reviewed: Somerset’s Women Sensitive Shave Oil

I have the most sensitive skin in the world, it seems. Whenever I shave my legs I am constantly buying shave gels that are for sensitive skin or moisturizing, so I was really eager to give Somerset’s Women Sensitive Shave Oil a go. As you can tell from the title, it’s specifically designed for women and for sensitive skin. Score!

Somerset’s Women Sensitive Shave Oil is designed:

  • Better than Mousse or Waxing
  • 100% Natural Concentrated Ingredients
  • 100% Pure Plant Extracts
  • Up to 260 Shaves
  • For Legs, Underarm & Bikini Line
  • No Mousse or Gel is Required

Moisturizes your skin, you’ll soon notice the difference.

Sounds amazing, right? It really is!

It consists of the following ingredients:

Hybrid vegetable Oil, Menthol , Fragrance, Aloe Vera, French Lavender Oil , Sandalwood Oil, Evening Primrose Oil, Sweet Almond Oil, Safflower Oil, Grapefruit OIl, Tea Tree Oil, Corianda Oil, Palmarosa Oil, Rosemary OIl, Ylang Ylang, Chilean Rosehip Seed Oil.

You all know how much I love all natural products, so of course I couldn’t be happier with the ingredient list! According to the Somersets site, “these oils lubricate the blade, for a cleaner, closer shave. And their natural healing properties help prevent irritation, while leaving the skin feeling cleaner, refreshed and more alive.” LOVE.

My husband even tried it because he gets a lot of razor bumps. He was pleased with it as it left his skin soft and he didn’t have any irritation! He just didn’t like that it was for women. :)

What I’ve always seemed to run into in the past has been, as soon as I’m down shaving my legs, I must immediately put on lotion. That helps keep my legs moisturized. However, by using Somerset’s Women Sensitive Shave Oil, I haven’t had to apply any! My legs feel really smooth as soon as I’m through!

I was slightly worried as this is an oil, as to whether it would be too greasy. It’s not, thankfully. A little definitely goes a long way though! As the label states, it’s designed to give you 260 shaves. I’m not nearly at that yet, I don’t think, so I can’t speak if it actually lasts that long. I do use 3 drops per shave, if that helps any.

The only downfall for me is the price. Drugstore.com sells it for $11.99, which seems to be the cheapest I’ve seen it so far. However, with the amount of money I spend on shaving gels and creams, it may all add up to be even. And the fact that my husband will use it makes it worth it too.

I may never go back to shave gels again!

Have you tried a shave oil versus a shave gel or cream? Did you find that you liked it better?
