I’m going to go ahead and dub 2013 the year of the subscription box. MANY new boxes came into the picture, and while some boxes have closed up shop, for the most part this trend is still holding strong.
If you’re on the hunt for a few last minute Christmas gifts, here are 5 subscription boxes that would make fab gifts for those on your list.
Recipient: The Beauty Lover
If beauty is what you’re after, Birchbox is, in my opinion, still the leader of all of the monthly beauty boxes. The box costs just $10 per month, and while they certainly had a few-off months in 2013, they closed out the year strong.
Recipient: The Fitness Enthusiast
Bulu Box is the box for the person who is always trying out the newest fitness trends and/or vitamins and supplements. Bulu Box costs just $10 per month and there are two boxes from which to choose: the regular box that contains a selection of 4-5 health and nutrition-related items each month or the weight loss box, which contains 4-5 weight loss-centric products per month.
Recipient: Filled with Wanderlust
For those who enjoy learning about new places and wish their full-time jobs involved traveling the globe, Hammock Pack is a great pick. I only received this box once, but it was one of my favorite boxes of the year! Hammock Pack costs $25 per month and each box comes filled with a selection of products representing a new destination.
Recipient: The New Mom
I’ve gifted subscriptions to Citrus Lane to many of my new mom friends and it is always a hit! Subscriptions cost as little as $19 per month, and each month the new mom will receive a selection of toys and other products geared toward her child’s gender, age, and development level.
A subscription to Bespoke Post would make a great gift for nearly any guy on your list. Each month they offer at least two boxes to choose from, and every box is filled with high-quality products that represent a range of “manly” interests. This box is pretty pricey at $55 per box (the price goes down when you order multiple months), but it’s worth every dime!
Most of the subscription boxes above offer gift cards that you can print out and wrap up for your recipient.
