Two subscription box reviews in a row – I’m kind of getting caught up, right?

Barkbox is a subscription box for dogs. I’ve been getting it for nearly a year now and my dogs always LOVE the contents. I love the box because they send healthy snack options and fun toys for my dogs. This month’s toy, in particular, is all kinds of amazing. (And as I write this my dogs are in the living room fighting over it!)

Barkbox costs $29.95 per month, or just $19.95 per month if you subscribe for six months or more. You can tailor the box to suit the size of your dog. For instance, I have two small dogs so we get the small box, but medium and large dog boxes are also available. We really love getting this box each month, mainly because of how happy it makes our dogs. I know that probably makes us crazy dog people, but so be it. 🙂

Here’s what I received in the August Barkbox:

Hear Doggy Squeaky Toy

Hear Doggy Squeaky Toy ($9.98 at Amazon) – My dog Bacon thinks he is the King of all squeaky toys. Seriously. Don’t even think about bringing a squeaky toy into our house that isn’t for him. (My friend Maria figured this out when she brought over some squeaky toys for her one-year-old son and Bacon stole them.) The thing with this toy is that it is a squeakless squeaky toy! When you squeeze the toy all that comes out is a little bit of air… so it’s not annoying to you, but let me tell you that the dogs come running! I was amazed. My life with dogs is filled with squeaky toys, but this is the best one of them all, for sure! (I read some Amazon reviews that said this toy is easily torn apart… Bacon has never chewed through a toy, so I don’t think this will be a problem for him, but just wanted to give you the heads up.) We will definitely be purchasing these toys in the future!

Primal Pet Liver Munchies ($4.22 at Amazon) – Obviously I can’t comment on the taste of these, but my dogs sure seemed to like them! This is a normal sized package of treats.

The Honest Kitchen Ice Pups – Yu can freeze this packet with some water to create doggy ice cream.

Barkworthies Natural Hickory Beef Treats ($9.41 at Amazon) – We haven’t opened these, but I’m a fan of all-natural treats, and my dogs aren’t usually picky when it comes to treats!

Barkworthies Bully Flakes Dog Treat ($8 at Amazon) – This powder adds some flavor to your dogs food, which can be helpful with picky eaters. My dogs aren’t picky as long as we buy the one food they like (yes, you read that correctly – 1 flavor/brand of food is all Bacon will eat), so I’m not sure whether or not we will be using this. However, it could be helpful in a pinch.

All told, I paid $19.99 for this box and received at least $30 worth of products. Not bad! We really use Barkbox as a way to try out new products, and they do a great job each month of sending us new things. Do we NEED to receive a BarkBox each month? No, but I enjoy how happy it makes my dogs and it has drastically cut down on the number of treats I need to buy since they come included in the shipment each month!
