I picked up a subscription to Bestowed – a healthy foods subscription box – via a three-month discount I found somewhere, so I think this is the last Bestowed box I will receive for awhile. Overall I liked Bestowed. They sent a really unique assortment of food items each month, and this month was definitely my favorite, although I’m not entirely certain the value of the products equaled the $19 price tag. As I said in the video below regarding this, for once I feel like quality trumps quantity, so even though I don’t think this box was quite worth $19, the range of new products I was introduced to made the price worthwhile.
Here’s what I received in my April Bestowed box:
Egg White Chips from Intelligent Protein Snacks – Who knew egg white chips existed?! I tried these almost immediately and found them to be quite tasty and fulfilling. Of course, you can’t really go wrong with anything coated in cinnamon and sugar. 🙂 These egg white chips were crispy, though the after taste was a little bit weird and hard to describe. That said, I’d totally purchase these if I ever saw them anywhere.
Bobby Sue’s Nuts – I haven’t tried these yet, but there’s an assortment of nuts packed with a little bit of sugar. They had me at sugar in the ingredients list.
Flap Jacked Protein Pancake Mix – 17 grams of protein and 6 grams of fiber per serving? I can’t wait to try these out.
Dark Chocolate Coconut Balance Bar – My love of all things dark chocolate and coconut is still going strong (and I may be addicted to the ThinkThin Divine Bars I posted about a few weeks ago). This Dark Chocolate Coconut bar is very tasty and tastes more like a cookie bar than a protein bar. I’d definitely pick these up again.
Cocomama Quinoa Cereal – It was probably only 18 months ago that I learned quinoa was a thing, and now it’s one of my favorite things. I haven’t tried this cereal yet, but I will soon. It looks delicious!
Zeel Massage on Demand $25 Gift Card – When I said I didn’t think the value of this box was quite $19, I wasn’t including this Zeel gift card. I tend not to count any of these gift cards toward the value of a box unless you can actually get something free from it. I highly doubt this $25 gift card would pay for an entire massage done from the comfort of my home.
Overall I definitely think this is one of the best food boxes I’ve received. There’s a great assortment of items, all of which I am looking forward to trying.
