First things first, this is our funny faces photo. Kind of a blogger fail, eh? 🙂 I just look bored with the concept of funny faces.

I told you all a couple weeks ago that I was going to embark on a blogger shopping crawl around Chicago, hitting up a few TJ Maxx and Marshall’s locations, and while I’m just now getting around to writing about it, that event did happen and it was a blast.

Nikia of ChiTown Fashionista fame worked to put this trip together for us and what resulted was an afternoon of fun, shopping, enjoying snacks from Special K, and partaking in a little  bloggy shop talk.

We hit up three different stores in the Chicago area:

Marshalls South Gate – 1101 South Canal St, Chicago

TJ Maxx Home Goods – 7349 Lemont Road, Downers Grove, IL

TJ Maxx – 2155 W22nd St., Oak Brook, IL

I totally had my eye on these Kate Spade flats – along with several other bloggers. They only cost like $60 {!}, but at the end of the day they were just too narrow for my feet.

Raijean and Nikia ended up getting the same incredible pair of Steve Madden leopard print boots. I was impressed because there’s no way I could put those shoes on and not topple right over. 🙂

I was shocked to find Prada home scents on the shelves at one of the TJ Maxx locations. I never would have guessed this brand would appear at TJ Maxx … and be downright affordable!

StriVectin skincare products are quite popular right now, so this is another brand I was surprised to see selling for less at Marshalls. I’ve actually been using a couple of StriVectin products, and I’m a fan … but more on that later. 😉

It was so fun getting out to the different TJ Maxx and Marshalls locations because when you go to 3 stores in one shopping trip it’s easy to see that the products vary widely from store to store. What you might find at one TJ Maxx may not be at another, so if you have multiple stores near you it may be worth adding the others to your shopping rotation.

Big thanks to Nikia, TJ Maxx, Marshalls, and Special K for making it all happen!

I’m actually in NYC today and tomorrow for another TJ Maxx event! Look for more details soon!
