In a Pretty Box is a new subscription box for women. All of the products included in each box will be handmade, which may explain why you’ll pay a premium for this box. A subscription costs $42 per month, and shipping will add an additional $9 to your order, so this is definitely one of the pricier boxes out there. (Though I’m told a sample box is coming that will cost $15 per month!) I would most compare this box to the PopSugar Must Have Box, or even My Ireland Box, in that it contains full-size products that would make good gift items for women.
Here’s what I received in my June In a Pretty Box:
Mint Nail Polish in Dirty Shirley ($12) – I’d never heard of Mint nail polish and I’m always glad to find a new polish brand! The color I received, Dirty Shirley, is gorgeous and I’ll be painting my nails this color immediately as soon as I’m forced to remove my Astrowifey manicure.
Sage K and Co. Leather Cord Bracelets ($14) – How does one properly photograph bracelets on her arm? This is a skill I obviously don’t possess! These leather bracelets are cute and will go with everything.
Things To Do Notepad by Tickled Peach Studio ($14) – I’d actually been in the market for a new notepad since I’ve taken to using random scraps of paper that I find around my computer. This notepad is super cute, although if I’m being honest I never would have paid $14 for this!
Noella Beauty Mineral Eyeshadow Samples ($12.99) – I’ve never tried lime green eyeshadow before so I’m excited to see if it’s my color. 😉 These are very generous sample sizes, and while I’m not certain I’d regularly use these colors I can’t wait to see how they look.
In a Pretty Home Hand-Painted Mini Bowl ($8) – This tiny bowl is probably my favorite item that was included in the box. It has earned a place of honor on my night stand, so it can hold on to all of the jewelry I forget to take off each night before bed. 🙂 The mint color is gorgeous and it’s just a really cute item even if it isn’t really practical for much besides holding jewelry.
The value of all of the items I received in this box was $60.99. Not bad, although since this box would cost $51 (including shipping), I would expect a box of this value or higher.
As for whether I would recommend In a Pretty Box or not, it totally depends. If you enjoy receiving full-size handmade treats each month and have the income to spend, then sure. This was a lovely box and I will surely use all of the contents! However, I think the box would be better if it came down at least $10 because spending over $50 for a box is daunting. $25 is usually the price point where I think twice about a casual purchase, and spending $50 on a treat box is something I’d have to budget for each month. Where I do think this box would be nice is as a one-off gift for someone – perhaps as a thank-you, or as a house-warming gift.
What do you think about In a Pretty Box? Would you be willing to spend $50+ for this box?
