I’m at the point in life where nearly all of my friends have kids under the age of five. I’ll send gifts to some of those kids, including two little girls who I sent boxes from Kiwi Crate. Kiwi Crate is a subscription box for kids that encourages kids to get creative. Kiwi Crates focus on STEAM – Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math – in fun and engaging ways that kids will love.
The brand also covers more age ranges than other boxes because they have three different age groupings:
- Koala Crate is ideal for 3-4 year olds
- Kiwi Crate is ideal for 5-8 year olds
- Doodle Crate & Tinker Crates are ideal for 9-16 year olds
Another great aspect to Kiwi Crate is that you can either subscribe and receive a new box each month, or you can pick up specific crates when you think there’s an activity you think your child will enjoy. Perhaps you need to fill some time over the upcoming holiday break or spring break. Picking up a Kiwi Crate would be a great option.
I was provided with two Kiwi Crates to check out and I have to tell you that I am seriously impressed.
Originally $16.95, on sale for $14.95
How much fun is this Clay Ornament Kit? I would have had so much fun with this when I was a kid! Combine making a cool project with receiving an awesome box in the mail and I would have been in kiddie heaven. Yes, even the younger version of myself LOVED getting mail and checked it every day. I don’t know what I was expecting but I do know it was a highlight of each and every day!
This kit comes with everything you’ll need to make cute little ornaments, including shapes, the clay, mini stamps and paint. They really thought of everything!
$12.95 • Sold Out
Unfortunately the Koala Crate Swirly Ornament Kit has sold out, but it included all of the ingredients needed to make three paint and glitter-filled ornaments (with a minimal amount of mess). Since we now have grandparents in our family, I feel confident saying these ornaments are the types of things that grandparents would love receiving!
While these are obviously holiday-themed boxes, Kiwi Crate has a bunch of different boxes that cover a range of interests and themes.
Each themed box is individually priced. If you would like to gift a surprise Kiwi Crate to someone the cost is $19.95 + shipping for one box. A three-month subscription costs $60, six months costs $110, and 12 months costs $205. All multi-month subscriptions ship for free within the U.S.
There IS still time to order a Kiwi Crate and have it arrive in time for a Christmas delivery! Just place your order by December 18 and the Crate will arrive by December 24. If you’ve put off purchasing a gift for a little one, I highly recommend checking out this site. The boxes are a whole lot of fun AND they’re educational so it’s a win-win. (The third win? Nobody will ever know you put off purchasing that gift!)
Disclosure: I was provided with two crates for the purpose of this review, but all opinions expressed above are my own.
