My December PopSugar Must Have Box arrived yesterday and you’ll find the contents of the box below. For the first time ever, I’m withholding judgment of the box until the end of the review, primarily because I use the writing process to evaluate each item and get a sense for what everything costs.
Here’s what I received in my December PopSugar Must Have Box:
Lulu Frost for Popsugar Bracelet ($110) – I suppose this bracelet is the cornerstone of the December PopSugar Must Have Box. Lulu Frost is an “it” jewelry designer of the moment, so this is a real get. That said, here’s a personal gripe: the PopSugar Must Have Box sends out a lot of bracelets and none of them have ever fit me, this latest bracelet included. I really wish they’d send necklaces or earrings. My personal whining aside, it’s a gorgeous bracelet!
GoVino Go Anywhere Flutes ($12.95) – I was a little surprised to see these champagne flutes included in this month’s box. Yes, it’s a timely item with New Year’s right around the corner, but this is kind of a duplicate send as GoVino wine glasses were included in the box from August 2012.
CC Made Pistachio Caramel Corn ($3) – This artisanal and organic caramel corn looks delicious, but I’m probably going to gift it to my dad who LOVES pistachios.
Mixt Studio Holiday Gifting Set ($9) – I love receiving new wrapping paper, and luckily I haven’t finished wrapping my gifts this year so I’ll definitely be putting this newsprint gift wrap set to immediate use!
NCLA Peppermint Lane Nail Wraps ($16) – I know what my Christmas mani is going to look like this year! These nail wraps are super cute and I love both patterns!
ModelCo Fibre Lashxtend Mascara ($24) – There’s a certain irony in that link going to the Birchbox website! I can’t find this exact mascara on the ModelCo website – it looks like they may have rebranded? I’ve received this mascara before and it’s a good one! I personally feel one can never have enough mascara.
Ghirardelli Chocolates – According to the brochure, these chocolates are just a little something extra and don’t count toward the content of the box. If I’m being cynical I’d say they were thrown in because otherwise the box would look empty. But since it’s the holidays and I’m not one for cynicism (yeah, right), I’ll instead say that these are a super tasty addition to this month’s box! I’m a huge fan of the Peppermint Bark chocolates in particular and may have already torn into that bag.
All told, the December PopSugar Must Have Box has a retail value of approximately $180! This is way better than the November PopSugar Must Have Box, which I wasn’t a fan of at all primarily because the value was so low in the same month that they raised the cost of the box to $39.95. I was pretty bummed that I didn’t care for November’s box because the PopSugar Must Have Box is one of my favorite subscription boxes to receive each month. I’ve said it many times, but receiving this box is akin to receiving an awesome birthday gift each month!
This is the first month I’ve ever had to withhold judgment of the PopSugar Must Have Box until after writing the review, but now, having taken the time to go over each individual item and see how much this box is worth, I have to say that it’s definitely a good one! I withheld judgment because when I opened the box yesterday it felt empty, aside from the Ghirardelli chocolates. Mascara, a bracelet, and wrapping paper can’t exactly fill up the large box that PopSugar sends out every month. While personally I’m disappointed that the bracelet doesn’t fit, I know I’ll make someone else’s day because it’s an easy gift. Everything else will be used or consumed shortly!
Do Tell: What did you think of the December PopSugar Must Have Box?
