Amazon Prime Day has officially begun! In 2016, Amazon Prime Day was Amazon’s biggest shopping day EVER, so there’s a good chance that this year’s is going to be even bigger. While Amazon Prime Day is awesome on its own, there are a few extra ways you can save more on Amazon Prime Day.
How to Save More on Amazon Prime Day
1. Look for coupons
Amazon doesn’t release a ton of coupons, but on Amazon Prime Day you’ll find them hiding all over the site. For instance, this year you can get 30% off your luxury beauty purchase with code “NEW2LUXPD17.” You can also get $5 off any $15+ book purchase with code “PRIMEBOOKS17.”
2. Add items you want to a wishlist
Amazon’s five-minute deal carousel allows tons of different brands to be featured on Amazon Prime Day, but it also means you may spend far more time reaching for your wallet than you’d originally intended. If you want to save, don’t sit there watching every deal as it comes down the hatch. Instead, create a wishlist of items that you want. Whenever those items go on sale Amazon will send you a notification. You won’t miss the sale and you won’t be tempted to spend more.
3. Order through Alexa
Do you have an Alexa voice product, like an Amazon Echo, Echo Dot or even the new Echo Show? If so, you can use Alexa to place an Amazon order! There are even special deals each day – including Prime day – that are only available to Alexa users. Currently, you can also get a free $10 Amazon credit when you place any $20+ purchase via Alexa!
Amazon Prime Deals You Won’t Want to Miss
There are way too many deals available on Amazon Prime Day and there’s no way I’d be able to cover all of them. Instead, here are a few of my favorite evergreen deals, which should be available until Amazon Prime Day is over.
Everyone’s favorite beauty store, Sephora, doesn’t really offer sales any more and even when they did they topped out at 20% off. The Luxury Beauty section on Amazon’s website is their answer to Sephora and today you can get 30% off your entire luxury beauty purchase. 30% is a HUGE savings on many of these products that rarely go on sale. It’s even more rare for them to be discounted this heavily! Be sure to enter code “NEW2LUXPD17” at checkout to receive the savings.
My recommendation is the Clarisonic Mia FIT. I write a Mia FIT review last year and I am still in love with this handheld facial cleaner. It’s smaller and more compact for the old version and much easier to travel with. Also, they’ve addressed my one concern and it looks like they now include a typical wall adapter with the unit. When I got mine last year it only came with a USB plug, which I found incredibly odd. Today, the Clarisonic Mia FIT bundle is on sale for $130.99, a huge savings from it’s normal $219 price point!
While that’s already an amazing deal, you CAN use the coupon code “NEW2LUXPD17” to save an additional 30% so you’ll actually get the bundle for just $65.29 before tax! That’s a crazy good deal!
If you don’t personally need a Clarisonic right now, I’d recommend grabbing this one and holding onto it if you think it’ll make a great Christmas gift for someone. I’m 99% certain we won’t see this price again in November or December.
I bought an Echo Dot a few weeks ago and I absolutely love it! I purchased it because I wanted an easy way to play tunes for the kids when we are in the playroom, but I also use it for random things like playing Jeopardy each morning, getting news and weather updates, tracking my Amazon packages, ordering things from Amazon and playing Adele songs. Honestly, Alexa probably thinks I’m crazy because of how often I find myself saying, “Alexa, play Adele.”
As you might imagine, accessories are being developed to pair with the Amazon Echo Dot and some of them are pretty awesome, like the Vaux Speaker. You stick your Echo Dot in the top of the speaker, which not only allows you to get much better sound quality but you can also use the Vaux Speaker wirelessly – with the Echo inside and no additional cords needed – for up to six hours at a time! Today there’s a bundle deal where you can get the Amazon Echo Dot and the Vaux Speaker for just $79.95!
Believe it or not, I’m not huge into technology. I’ve never had a piece of technology that I had to replace as soon as something better came along but that’s how I feel right now about the Kindle Voyage. I have a Kindle Paperwhite (on sale for $89.99) that I love, but the Kindle Voyage does many of the same things… but better. Typically $199.99, it’s on sale right now for $149.99.
The only Amazon Prime Day purchase I made last year was for an Instant Pot. These pressure cookers have a cult-like following and rarely go on sale. Today you can grab the Instant Pot DUO80 7-in-1 Programmable Pressure Cooker for $89.99 – normally $129.95.
The Instant Pot was one of Amazon’s top sellers last Amazon Prime Day. In just one day they sold 200,000+ units!
My recommendation if you do grab an Instant Pot is to also grab an Instant Pot Cookbook, otherwise there’s a great chance you’ll be like me and won’t have a clue how to use your new pressure cooker. Instant Pot Obsession by Janet A. Zimmerman has great reviews. Be sure to take advantage of the Amazon book coupon if you do pick up a cookbook!
If you buy a Kindle book today, you will get a credit for 40% off your next Kindle book purchase. Admittedly, this isn’t the best deal Amazon has ever offered on Kindle books, but I mention it because I spend a ton of money on Kindle books and this is a great way to save in the future.
I love our new house, but it’s filled with white carpet and so I spend way too much time vacuuming. I can’t tell you just how much I want an iRobot Roomba, which is on sale today for $249.99 – normally $374.99.
I’ve already made my one purchase for Amazon Prime Day… I purchased a pair of New Balance sneakers for my son for just $19! As expected, Amazon is really pushing fashion and you can get 30% off select clothing, shoes, and accessories for the entire family! Surprisingly, when I look at categories like women’s floral dresses, it’s not just Amazon’s in-house fashion brands that are being promoted. Tons of items are on sale.
