Casual Friday on a Dime: Color Block Cardigan

It’s no surprise that we love color blocking around here. However, sometimes I often run into trying to figure out what is too much color (if there really is such a thing!). That’s why I was completely smitten with this color block cardigan! It’s the perfect blend of colors without looking like you are trying too hard.

I love how it’s paired with a simple white shirt! I think it could be a fab casual Friday outfit with a pair of jeans or you could wear it to work with some nice pants.

If you’re feeling really colorful, then check out this yellow/pink combo! LOVE!

These cardigans say they are one size, but I think they look fairly roomy, which I’m a total fan of.

Although the $45.90 price tag isn’t outrageous, you could still save even more! You can get 16% off your first order from Oasap by using the code oasap1st.

What do you think of the color block trend? Would you wear it on casual Friday?

Casual Friday on a Dime: Metallic Tops

BKE Metallic Tank Top
Metallic Dolman Sleeve Top (size M)
Aiko Tank (splurge!)

It’s no surprise that I love anything shiny and sparkly. I’ve been on a big metallic trend as of lately, and what better way to add a bit of flare to your casual Friday attire then with fun metallic tops! All of these can be dressed up or down and can really make a statement, but without looking like you overdid it in the glitter department. :)

I love the color of the BKE metallic tank, along with the detailing. This would look fantastic paired with some black skinny jeans! Or throw on a blazer or moto jacket with it and you’ve got one heck of a look!

The dolman top needs to come home with me stat! I think it’s a great way to incorporate the metallic trend, but still keeping it casual. LOVE.Oh, and the price tag makes it even more appealing.

Lastly, how awesome is the Aiko tank? I’m not going to lie, the $235 price tag isn’t the cheapest way to add metallics to your wardrobe, but I do love that the metallics are broken down by the stripes, so it’s too overpowering.

All in all, I’m in love with metallic tops. Are you? Would you wear them on casual Friday or do you think metallics are too dressy?

I cannot wait to put away my sweaters and sweatshirts and pull out my lightweight clothing! Yay for spring! As we approach warm weather season, does your wardrobe need some updating? Mine sure does! I think all of the pieces above need to find a way home with me, stat!

The chambray jeans are the bees knees. I NEED these. I may have just ordered a pair. :)

Casual Friday on a Dime: Blazers

I love that blazers can be dressed up or down. They also serve dual purposes, as you can wear them to work and play! LOVE!

For example, this dual tone zippered blazer is the bees knees!

WANT!

And for $29.99 it definitely doesn’t break the bank!

I think the pop of green is really fab for spring. Pair it with jeans and a white t-shirt and your casual Friday outfit is complete!

This fluffy cocoon coat is gorgeous!

Not your typical “blazer”, but I’m still smitten with it. It’s still a little chilly here in Maryland so this would make a great transitional piece while the temperatures can’t make up their mind. Seriously, it’s in the 50s today and is supposed to snow on Tuesday!

Free People Easy Pleat Pant, $78
LOFT Sunwashed Crew Neck Tee, $19.50 (on sale, 40% off!- no code needed).
Forever 21 Modernist T-Strap Flats, $22.80

Even though it’s casual Friday that doesn’t mean you can’t have fun with your wardrobe! I love these Free People Easy Pleat Pants because of the pop of color! How great is this blue?! I also really like how these pants can be dressed up or down. For example, if you click on the link the model is wearing them with heels. However, in the above picture, she has sandals on. Both look fab. I’m sold.

I love these pants paired with basics that I’m sure you have in your closest! By the way, have you tried one of the LOFT sunwashed tees? They are so soft and comfy! I may have bought one in each color…..

Not only will you look stylish, but you’ll be super comfortable. Who knew elastic waist pants could be cute?! Clearly comfort is a trend with me. :)

These are great pieces to add to your spring wardrobe. Now, if we could just get the spring weather we’d be set!

Do you tend to wear a pop of color on casual Fridays? Or do you keep it basic?

Casual Friday on a Dime: Lou and Gray LOFT

I’m all about comfort, as well as style. I will turn away from the cutest pieces if they seem to be uncomfortable, regardless of the price tag. However, when I ran into LOFT the other day I was completely smitten with the Lou and Gray LOFT collection! My heart skipped a beat- casual and comfortable. Sign me up!

What really caught my eye as an awesome casual Friday piece was this Lou & Grey Specklestripe Shift Dress. I thought of all the possibilities of styling it- adding a fun scarf, some great tights or leggings and a killer pair of shoes! It’ll even be fab when the weather gets warmer and you can wear it with sandals (I long for those days!).

LOFT Lou & Grey Specklestripe Shift Dress

I think by pairing it correctly I could totally wear it to work. Or at least I’m going to try. :)

My second favorite piece in the collection is the LOFT Lou & Grey Terry Moto Jacket.

I think it look great paired with black pants and a white shirt, like above. I could 100% wear this to work.

The only downside? Lou and Gray doesn’t qualify for the 30% sale going on now.

What do you think of the Lou and Gray LOFT collection? Would you wear any of the pieces for casual Friday?

Casual Friday on a Dime: Kimonos

I’ve never really give much thought to kimonos, however, after seeing these I now need to add some to my wardrobe! They make a fabulous edition to your casual Friday wardrobe, as well as your every day attire! LOVE!

casual friday kimonos

1. Daydreamer Kimono, Forever 21
2. Native Rose Kimono, ASOS
3. Crinkle Kimono Jacket, Urban Outfitters
4. Tassel Kimono, Kohls

I’m dying to get my hands on the first one, as it screams spring!

I could totally see myself incorporating these kimonos into my wardrobe, can’t you?! And you can give your casual Friday outfit an added touch by throwing one on over a pair of jeans and a tank or tshirt. The best part? They don’t cost an arm and leg? The one from Kohls is only $12! That’s a steal! And I really like the idea of number 3, as it’s a jacket!

I love that they can be dressed up or down, depending on your mood. They look just as good with a dress, as in the second picture, or with jeans. For me versatility is key! The more uses, the better!
