Spotted on Etsy: SweetAmbs Sugar Cookies

Years ago, SweetAmbs was one of the first shops I found on Etsy. I couldn’t stop going back to stare at Amber Spiegel’s beautiful cookies. The cookies were even more delicious than they looked, too! Unfortunately, Amber no longer sells her treats on Etsy, but I thought this post from August of 2009 would be a fun look back before she made it big! Now, you can find Amber on her own blog where she shares cooking-making tips, making addictive-to-watch cooking-making videos, and teaching cookie-making classes on Craftsy.

You want to know what happened when I first found SweetAmbs’ beautiful sugar cookies? I gasped. Literally. Never, ever, in my whole life, had I seen cookies more beautiful than those made by SweetAmbs owner Amber Spiegel.

I dare you to find me a cookie that’s more beautifully decorated than this one, the Brown and Pink Brush Embroidery Cookie:

That lovely cookie isn’t made in a factory. Amber decorates these cookies by hand!

Ready for another?

How about these Cookies Inspired by Wedgwood:

When I first saw these lovely mongrammed cookies, all I could think about was having a tea party. Or an engagement party. Or a baby shower. Wouldn’t these be a lovely treat? (Each cookie comes individually sealed, making it the perfect gift!)

Seriously, these cookies look almost too good to eat.

So, let’s look at another, shall we?

Can you even believe these are cookies? I certainly can’t. These are the Spring Basket Cookies.

I don’t recall ever getting so excited about cookies. But how can one not get excited about these pieces of art?

SweetAmbs Cookie-Decorating Classes

Amber is no longer selling her cookies, but she is now making it easier for all of us to make our own fancy cookies! You can find her tutorials all over Youtube and Facebook, but she is also teaching a couple of classes via Craftsy!

20 Gift Ideas for the Pumpkin Spice Obsessed |

‘Tis the season for pumpkin spice everything!

I know that some people aren’t fans of pumpkin spice, but I admit to being one of the obsessed. I always run out to Starbucks on the day that beverage is released and this year was no different. I LOVE pumpkin season! Pumpkin spice, pumpkin pie, just plain old pumpkin… it doesn’t matter! I’ve even been pinning a bunch of pumpkin recipes that I want to start baking immediately.

It occurred to me this morning that there are probably other ways that I can flame my pumpkin spice obsession besides through food and drink, and boy was I right! I searched Etsy and feel like I hit the pumpkin mother load. And then, being the good shopping blogger that I am, I decided to share the results of my online window shopping with you.

This post is for all of my fellow pumpkin spice lovers out there. Enjoy your pumpkin spice latté with pride. And if you need a pumpkin spice bath bomb, notebook, or onesie for your baby to go along with it? Treat Yourself!

My Favorite Etsy Finds – Part 1

My Favorite Etsy Finds – Part 1

My apologies for being MIA lately! Between the last month of this pregnancy, chasing around a toddler and two dogs and planning to move, I am so exhausted and have barely opened up my computer. I am very much looking forward to April arriving when we will hopefully be in our new home with a new baby and my energy levels should return to some semblance of normal (even if I’ll be a different kind of exhaustion).

Throughout the history of this site, I have always been a big fan of Etsy, and that’s even more the case now as I can finally start thinking about decorating rooms in a home and, let’s be honest, occasionally dressing two kids in matching clothing. It’s one of the only “stores” I’ve looked at and purchased from recently, so I thought today I’d share a few of my favorite finds from the site.

Framed Paper Doll Portrait

I am pretty obsessed with this Framed Paper Doll Portrait, although the artist is only adding people to the waitlist at this point. Since our family will be complete after baby two arrives, I think I may need to have one of these made … and it will, of course, include our two dogs!

Inspirational Water Bottles

I’ve long detailed my own struggles with not drinking enough water, but I really need to work on this after the baby arrives. I’m thinking of investing in these Inspirational Water Bottles, which will keep me on track throughout the day. You actually get four water bottles, which means you can always have cold water and don’t have to immediately think to refill when one bottle is empty.

No Scrubs Doormat

OK, this No Scrubs Doormat just makes me laugh. I’m probably going to have to find a spot for it at our new home.

Have yourself an Etsy Christmas: Gifts, home decor and more | Shop Girl Daily

I’m bundled up in front of the fire enjoying the holidays, and I hope you all are too! Since I don’t have to work or do much of anything today, I thought it would be a great time to show you my favorite Etsy Christmas finds.

If your order now, most of these items will still be able to reach you before December 25, but be sure to check each individual vendor’s holiday ship-by dates.

Have Yourself an Etsy Christmas

Merry Christmas Ya Filthy Animal Shirt

I can’t say Merry Christmas without wanting to follow it up by adding, “ya filthy animal!” This shirt from Jones Co Creations ($23.29) is super cute, but there’s no shortage of shirts and accessories sporting this popular phrase!

Merry Christmas Ya Filthy Animal Onesie

Case in point.. Merry Christmas Ya Filthy Animals Onesies from Aubrey Bills Boutique ($13). What’s not to love about these?!

Christmas Stamp

I think this Christmas Stamp from Letter and Adore ($18) would be adorable for stamping the outside of Christmas card envelopes!. Of course, I think about this now… after all of my cards have been mailed out already. Sigh. Remind me to do this next year, OK?! With the cards already gone, however, I do love this idea of using the stamp to make DIY holiday tags!
