Try a NuFace Mini Facial Toning Device *Free* for 14 Days

NuFace Mini Trial

Normally I don’t post *free trials* as they seem like something that one might find on TV or something, but I’m intrigued by this free trial that I came across and after spending some time researching it online felt like some of you might be interested as well.

For a limited time, Total Beauty is offering a free 14 day trial of the NuFace Mini. Normally this device costs $199, but with this offer all you’ll need to do is pay $9.99 shipping and handling.

Machines like this seem to be popping up everywhere, and honestly I didn’t know what they were for or how they worked. Apparently a NuFace is a facial toning device. With regular use it will allegedly lift and tone skin. The NuFace Mini is FDA “cleared” as an anti-aging device. The reviews posted on various store websites seem to be overwhelmingly positive, although the reviews on Amazon are more mixed (with some negative reviews noting that the device may break, it gave them headaches, or over-stimulated a thyroid).

Here’s how it works:

I watched the video above, and while I remain skeptical about the results, I think I might take advantage of this trial and then post a review. (Again, my cheap fingers are crossed that I don’t fall completely in love with this gadget!)

Terms of the free trial from Total Beauty (bolding of key points is mine):

Trial Request and Purchase Terms. Terms of payment are within Total Beauty’s sole discretion. When you request a free trial of a Product on this Site, you acknowledge and agree that: (1) you are participating in a trial period for use of the Product; (2) you will be charged immediately for the handling and shipping expenses incurred in shipping the Product to your designated shipping address; (3) your license to use and try out the Product is limited to the fourteen (14) day trial period that follows your receipt of the Product (the “Trial Period”); (4) payment for the Product is due and immediately payable following the conclusion of the Trial Period and you will be charged for the full purchase price after the conclusion of the Trial Offer; and (5) you agree to write a review of the Product on the Total Beauty site ( which you can do here ).

The Company shall have the absolute right to charge your credit card the full amount of the Product purchase price at the conclusion of the Trial Period. At any time during the Trial Period, if you are not satisfied with the Product, you may return it to Total Beauty (or its shipping agent); provided you first notify Total Beauty’s customer service of your intention to return the Product and you actually ship the product back to the Company prior to 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time on the last day of the Trial Period. This Week’s Freebies from Creative Market

Autumn Photos

Creative Market is one of my favorite websites to check each week, because they’re always offering new freebies. I’m not sure that Creative Market is of interest to everyone though, which is why I haven’t really talked about it before. I primarily use the site to shop for new fonts and blog layouts (for this blog I use the Beverly Theme from BluChic that I got from Creative Market), but they also offer things like graphics, images, business card templates and more. Pretty much everything they offer could be valuable to any fellow bloggers out there, but the items they offer can be used by anyone with an interest in computer generated design. For instance, those who enjoy designing their own greeting cards or note cards, or those who enjoy scrapbooking.

I do spend money at Creative Market (occasionally too much as my font obsession is still going strong), but their collection of freebies is also pretty awesome. I’m going to remember to try to start posting them each week for any of you that may be in the market for some creative inspiration. Absolutely no purchase is necessary to get the freebies, though you will need to register for a (free) Creative Market account.

Note: Please make sure that you pay attention to any download requirements. For instance, some of the graphic downloads may not work unless you have Adobe Photoshop or Illustrator, so just be cognizant of any weird requirements like that.

This week Creative Market is offering the following freebies:

Get a Free AllState Foundation Purple Purse Charm via Gilt City

AllState Foundation Purple Purse

I wasn’t familiar with the AllState Foundation Purple Purse initiative before starting this post, but it is an endeavor that aims to bring awareness and financial support to victims of domestic abuse, which seems like a worthy cause at the moment considering current events. (And, you know, always.)

Kerry Washington was just named the ambassador of AllState Foundation Purple Purse. Here’s a little more about what they do:

Two-thirds of Americans believe that domestic violence is a serious problem, yet just more than 1 in 3 have ever talked about it. Allstate Foundation Purple Purse is making it fashionable to talk about domestic violence and the financial abuse that traps women in abusive relationships. The program ignites fundraising for more than 140 national, state and local domestic violence organizations. Funds raised will support life-changing financial empowerment services to help domestic violence survivors build safer lives for themselves and their families. Allstate Foundation Purple Purse aims to break the cycle of violence in our nation – one family at a time.

Domestic violence affects one in four women in her lifetime – that’s more women than breast cancer, ovarian cancer and lung cancer combined. Most people think only of physical abuse when they consider domestic violence, yet financial abuse happens in 98% of all cases of domestic violence. Domestic violence and financial abuse often go hand-in-hand, but nearly 8 in 10 Americans have not heard about financial abuse as a form of domestic violence. The number one reason domestic violence survivors stay, leave or return to an abusive relationship is that they don’t have the financial resources to break free.

If you’re interested in showing your support for this organization you can request two free Purple Purse Charms via Gilt City. The idea is that it will be one charm for you and another for a friend. Additionally, each charm will come with the story of a domestic abuse surviver.

Earlier this year I talked about how my husband I were going to make small wedding albums for our parents for Christmas yet here it is almost September and I haven’t started working on anything. It’s Time to Make Your August Kindle First Selection – FREE Book for Amazon Prime Members!

Earlier this year Amazon launched the Kindle First program, where Amazon Prime members can get one FREE Kindle book per month. It’s actually a pre-release book, which will be released to the general public the following month. Per usual, there are four books from which to choose.

Here are the Kindle First selections for August:

The Paper Magician

The Paper Magician by Charlie N. Homberg

Synopsis: Ceony Twill arrives at the cottage of Magician Emery Thane with a broken heart. Having graduated at the top of her class from the Tagis Praff School for the Magically Inclined, Ceony is assigned an apprenticeship in paper magic despite her dreams of bespelling metal. And once she’s bonded to paper, that will be her only magic…forever.

Yet the spells Ceony learns under the strange yet kind Thane turn out to be more marvelous than she could have ever imagined—animating paper creatures, bringing stories to life via ghostly images, even reading fortunes. But as she discovers these wonders, Ceony also learns of the extraordinary dangers of forbidden magic.

An Excisioner—a practitioner of dark, flesh magic—invades the cottage and rips Thane’s heart from his chest. To save her teacher’s life, Ceony must face the evil magician and embark on an unbelievable adventure that will take her into the chambers of Thane’s still-beating heart—and reveal the very soul of the man.

Portrait of a Girl

Portrait of a Girl by Dörthe Binkert

Synopsis: In the summer of 1896, a grand Swiss spa hotel becomes a refuge for Nika, a penniless beauty whose tortured past has left her unable to speak. While working in the manicured gardens, she becomes a muse to the celebrated painter Giovanni Segantini, who takes her under his wing.

Although he’s married, the two bond closely, and beneath his gaze Nika blossoms. She opens her heart to Segantini, serving as the muse for his luminous masterwork La Vanità, and through his patience recovers her voice. The secret between them is her sole material possession: a golden locket with clues to her mysterious heritage.

How will Nika learn the hidden secrets of the locket and uncover her origins? And what path awaits her once the facts are revealed? As her ties to Segantini grow ever more complex, her search for love and truth becomes as perilous as the quest for an alpine summit—and her destiny is rewritten on the journey.
