Fab.com Launching Soon

fab.com Preview

Sample sale sites focusing on items for the home have been topping my list of favorites recently.  Unless there’s a specific sale I want to check out, I usually check out Rue La La, Joss & Main, and One Kings Lane as soon as they open their doors each morning.

It’s no wonder then that I am REALLY excited about the launch of fab.com, a new sample sale site that will focus entirely on design.

They announced their launch a few weeks ago, and it’s so hard trying to patiently wait for them to open their doors!

Finally they released a preview of some of the first sales they’ll be featuring … in 3 long weeks … and I’m pretty certain the wait is going to prove to be worthwhile.

You can see the preview images above, and I’m most excited about the Museum of Arts and Design sale.

If you’re interested in home and design-focused sample sales, I recommend registering now!  You’ll be able to invite your friends to join and earn cool perks based on how many friends register, including free credits and free shipping.

Gilt Adding Gourmet Food Site?

I just came across this article, “Gilt’s New Funding Values Online Retailer at $1 Billion,” from the Wall Street Journal, which talks about Gilt’s latest fundraising efforts.  The article is pretty interesting if you’re into online sample sales and discusses how Gilt has never made a profit, and how their business has been challenged by improvements in the economy.

Most interesting to me though, is the throw-away line toward the bottom of the article, stating that Gilt is planning to launch a Gourmet Food Site by the end of the year.  Um, sign me up, please?  Can’t wait to hear more about this latest venture from one of our favorite sample sale sites!
