Treat Yourself: Matt Bernson Mercer Flats

Matt Bernson Mercer

I wouldn’t normally do two Treat Yourself posts in one day, but these Matt Bernson Mercer Flats are too good of a deal not to share!

These flats originally cost $176, but they’re currently on sale at PiperLime for just $34.97. PLUS, you can use code “SUMMER20″ at checkout to save an additional 20%, which drops the price to just $27.98 and they ship for free! That’s about an 85% discount on a pair of high-quality and super cute shoes!

The only downside is that the Matt Bernson Mercer Flats are only available in sizes 6.5, 7.5, 9.5, and 10.

I have a pair of Matt Bernson flats and I love them. I highly recommend this brand! Be sure to check out the PiperLime Sale for all sorts of designer shoes for less, but don’t forget that coupon code. It’s valid through July 13.

Wedding Wednesday: 10 Pairs of Tiffany Blue Wedding Shoes

10 Pairs of Tiffany Blue Wedding Shoes

For whatever reason, I couldn’t stop thinking about Tiffany Blue Wedding Shoes this morning, so of course I had to go in search of a few pairs. I don’t know why this was on my mind as I’m already married and we don’t even have any weddings to attend this year! It just felt like something that had to be done.

I never really considered wearing tiffany blue on my own wedding day, but I was thinking this morning that if I had to do it all over again I might try to go with a tiffany blue and coral theme. I’m not sure how that would work out, but at least in my head it looks gorgeous!

If you’re getting married this summer, here are 10 pairs of Tiffany Blue Wedding Shoes, at all price points. Whether you’re looking for designer wedding shoes like tiffany blue Manolo Blahniks or tiffany blue wedding shoes that cost less than $50, you’ll find it below:

Wedding Wednesday: Alice + Olivia Laser Cut Pumps

Wedding Wednesday

I am head over heels in love with these Alice + Olivia Dina Laser Cut Pumps! I mean, for real?! They are gorgeous!! The only deterrent? The $395 price tag.

If you have money in the budget to splurge on shoes, then I say go for them! They make me swoon. I think they would look exceptionally stunning with a shorter dress so that you can really show them off! Or how fun would they be to wear to your engagement party and rehearsal dinner! Alice + Olivia is known as a go-to designer for vintage style. If you are having a vintage themed wedding then these are a must have! I just can’t get enough!

Nature-inspired cutouts and appliqués lend rich texture to glitter-infused, pebbled leather alice + olivia pumps. An asymmetrical, notched top line lends sculptural appeal. Covered heel and leather sole.

Treat Yourself: The Shoes of Carrie Bradshaw Poster

The Shoes of Carrie Bradshaw Poster

I love every single thing about The Shoes of Carrie Bradshaw poster from Pop Chart Lab! It features 50 of the iconic pairs of shoes worn over the course of the show and two movies by Sarah Jessica Parker. The shoes in the poster are stacked by shoe designer.

This would be the perfect artwork for a dream walk-in shoe closet, don’t you think? Since that’s not likely to ever happen (at least in my house), it might have to suffice as cute wall art in my office.

Each The Shoes of Carrie Bradshaw Poster ($23) is hand-numbered and signed by the artist.

Trends to Try: Ugly Sandals

On Good Morning America this morning they discussed “ugly sandals.” And a few weeks ago The Fabulist mentioned them as well. I was intrigued. Basically, the trend of sky high heels is turning to the trend of comfort, in the form of these “ugly” sandals.

Well, don’t let the name deceive you! I found a few pairs that aren’t that ugly after all!

jeffrey campbell wedges

These Jeffrey Campbell Wedges are actually quite cute I think!

And what about these  Teva – Tirra’s?!

Teva - Tirra (Simply Taupe) - Footwear

I think they’d look cute paired with jeans and t-shirt!

I adore this flatform trend!

These Yes Pound Flatform Sandals fascinate me! I just don’t know if I could walk in them. :)

Jeffrey Campbell seems to have hit the ugly sandals trend on the head.

Ugly sandals, love them or hate them, I think they are here to stay! Due to the comfort factor, your feet will thank you!

Spring’s Biggest Trends: Metallic Sandals

True story: A few weeks ago I put on my newest pair of metallic gold Sperry Top-Siders for the first time and made a weird personal decision. “I’m going to be the person that always wears metallic shoes in the summer,” I thought to myself, feeling kind of proud that I would have a “thing.” For the past five years or so I’ve been a weird devotee of metallic footwear in the summer, so it’s kind of bizarre that I had this epiphany, but it was what it was.

Shortly thereafter – probably that same day – I was browsing a celebrity gossip website when I noticed that everyone was wearing metallic sandals and metallic shoes. Even though I wasn’t trying to start a trend or be at the forefront of any trends, I patted myself on the back a bit for actually being trendy for once and then began searching for a new pair of metallic sandals. (It just goes to show: If you wear the same styles long enough they’ll eventually come back into fashion!)

Which leads us here. Metallic shoes are everywhere this spring and I obviously couldn’t be happier. If you’re looking to add a pair or two or three to your shoe collection (it’s my personal opinion you can never have too much!), here are a few of my favorite pairs:

Spring 2014 Trends: Metallic Sandals

1. Tory Burch Savannah Wedge – $265 at Nordstrom

I don’t think ankle straps are particularly flattering on me, otherwise these beauties would already have a place in my closet! They’re amazingly dainty, and you’ll be able to wear them with everything from shorts to dresses!

2. Birkenstock Papillio Gizeh – $120 at Zappos.com

Raise your hand if you’re a little (or more than a little) surprised to see that Birkenstocks are making a come back? Honestly, I never thought I’d see the day. I still have my trusty pair that I wore throughout high school (believe it or not they still look brand new), but if I was going to get a new pair they would definitely be these metallic hot pink ones!

3. Glimmer is Served Sandal in Gold – $44.99 at ModCloth

As I was browsing shoes and writing this post I noticed that not only are metallic sandals huge, but metallic gladiator sandals and metallic Greek sandals (see #7) are everywhere.

4. TKEES Duos Flip Flops – $50 at Shopbop (save 25% at the Shopbop Friends and Family Sale through April 17 with code “INTHEFAMILY14″ and bring the price down to $37.50)

As I mentioned yesterday, I recently picked up a pair of TKEES and I know I’m going to be wearing them non-stop this summer. You may be surprised that I opted for the non-metallic version but these were a close contender!

5. Callie Metallic Sandals – $98 at J.Crew

This pair of metallic sandals is practically perfect.

6. Matisse Marco Metallic Sandal – $98 at Urban Outfitters

I liked this combination of black and silver. It’s a little unexpected!

7. Metallic Wing Sandals – $168.52 at Farfetch.com

As I mentioned above, I was surprised by the number of gladiator sandals and Greek sandals I found. I actually found quite a few pairs of winged sandals and I’ve got to admit – I kind of love them!

8. McKim Leather Sandal – $88 at Lilly Pulitzer

I don’t have this specific pair, but I have a sandal that’s very similar to this one that I’ve worn probably the past five summers. Gold flip flops go with everything but I think the gold gives them an added glam factor.

9. Metallic Chevron Flip Flop – $17.50 at Charlotte Russe

This is what you get when you combine all of the trends into one shoe. Not that I’m complaining!

10. BCBGeneration Demee Sandal – $49 at Zappos.com

This metallic sandal can be worn by anyone, but I thought it would make a really pretty option for brides that are looking for a fun party sandal.

11. Voyager Metallic Sandals – $12.80 at Forever 21

This sandal is black and gold, and I like it just as much as the black and silver version above. This one costs approximately 85% less though, which puts it a step ahead in my book.

12. Sergio Rossi Flora Crystal-Encrusted Wrap Sandals – MEGA SPLURGE at SAKS

I’ve been seeing these sandals on all of the celebrities so I had to include it here. Isn’t it beautiful?

Check out another of spring’s biggest trends: Slip On Sneakers.

I have some fun news to share: I’m the new Budget Style Expert at About.com!! My first post went up today and it features 10 pairs of metallic shoes under $50. (I told you I had metallic footwear on the brain!) While I haven’t had time to personalize the home page yet, you can find the Budget Style page here.

Splurge vs. Steal: Striped Espadrilles

Spring is approaching which means we can ditch the socks and boots and lace up our espadrilles and hit the town! If you’re in the market for a cute pair, these striped ones are perfect! However, the $195 price tag of the Loeffler pair may not be. So of course we had to find a similar pair, at a much less price!

striped espadrilles

Splurge: Loeffler Randall Striped Espadrilles, $195
Steal: Soludos ‘Derby’ Espadrilles, $54.95

What do you think? Similar, right? The color of the stripes are a tad off and the steals don’t have the platform, but other than that, I’d say we have a winner!

I live near Annapolis, Maryland, so the nautical trend is huge in my area. With these I would fit in perfectly, without looking too much like a sailor. I may have to grab a pair for when the weather finally breaks! They’d look super cute with jeans and t-shirt, or with a cute dress. The possibilities are endless!

For $140.05 less I think I’m leaning towards the steals. :)

Do you love wearing espadrilles in the spring as much as we do? Do you prefer the platform style or are you in love with the steals?
