That’s right, it’s time to start thinking about winter boots again! Sorel boots are all the rage on the Big Ten campus at which I work (usually tucked into leggings or skinny jeans, of course), and I’ve been dying to tuck my paws into a pair of warm and toasty boots.
I’m loving the Sorel Tivoli Boots, which retail for $120 at Zappos. While $120 isn’t incredibly expensive for a pair of good winter boots, they do seem a bit steep for a winter trend. I started looking for alternatives, and stumbled across these:
The Merona Nara Winter Boot is only $39.99 at Target and looks almost identical. They look just about as warm and fuzzy as the Sorel boots, and I love the fun plaid!
It’s officially tall boot season, which used to make me quite sad. I was an athlete growing up, so ever since high school I’ve had larger-than-normal (normal? I can’t think of a better term here) calves. This meant that, no matter how hard I tried and no matter how many pairs of boots I tried on, I could never find a pair of tall boots that would fit my calves. Even the boots marked “wide calf boots” never fit. If you’ve been in this situation you know how frustrating it can be to not have any boots fit your legs.
Finally, last year I found a pair of that fit me from Zappos! I wrote a Ros Hommerson Boot Review last year and wanted to mention it again for any of you searching for wide calf boots. I honestly can’t recommend these boots highly enough! While normally I wouldn’t attribute any article of clothing or pair of shoes to a heightening in self-esteem, I felt really good about myself when I wore these boots out last year because I could follow some of the trends, like wearing the boots over a pair of jeans! They’re a great quality and I’ll easily be able to wear them for years. (Thank goodness, because they are not cheap.) I only wish they came in brown!
Zappos has a selection of Ros Hommerson Boots. The ones I picked up were in the “wide wide calf” sizing.
I’ve been lusting after a pair of Hunter rain boots for, oh, about three or four years now. Every season I want at different color (which is probably why I keep holding off on buying some!). I was just browsing the Zappos website when I came across my fave boot in this punchy chartreuse color! I LOVE the color and, call me crazy, but I think chartreuse could be a great fall neutral! It goes with almost everything (really, it does!) and always looks fun and cheery. Oh, Hunter Original High Gloss Boot … will this be the year you become mine? We shall see! Find this pair of Hunter Boots at Zappos for $125!
What are you wearing for your something blue? Shoes? Jewelry? Underwear?

Maxi dresses are a great honeymoon essential because they’re easy to wear during the day, even as a bathing suit cover up, but they’re also very easy to dress up for a nice dinner or drinks.
Here’s how to take this already fab Gabriella Rocha Mint Green Maxi and dress it up with a couple of gold and coral accessories for a night on the town.

Loving the print on print look right now! Emma Watson pulled this look off perfectly at the Struck By Lightning premiere during the 2012 Tribeca Film Festival.
