Last month I mentioned that I had picked up a discount voucher and was going to check out The Sweet Trunk from Taste Trunk. Well, that box came and I was so unimpressed that I didn’t bother writing a review.

A funny thing happened, though.

I forgot to cancel my subscription and another Taste Trunk arrived at my door this month. Normally I hate when I forget to cancel, but it ended up being a fortuitous mistake this time around as the July Sweet Trunk was 100% better. I’m not sure if last month’s box was so bad because I had used a coupon and thus received a crappy box, if this box varies from bad to awesome each month, or if last month was just an off month. Regardless, I wasn’t expecting much from the July box so to say that it far exceeded my expectations would be an understatement.

Here’s what I received in The Sweet Trunk from Taste Trunk:

Gummy Bears

Bissinger’s Gummy Pandas – These were JUST what the doctor ordered yesterday. As soon as I poked through the box I had downed the package of blackberry hibiscus Gummy Pandas. They were absolutely delicious. These are two full-size bags and, if I’m not mistaken, this is a product that is sold at Whole Foods.

Suite Foods Liège Waffles – So, these were dessert last night. I had the chocolate drizzled waffle and my husband had the non-chocolate waffle. These were a little stale coming out of the packaging, but were perfect after 20 seconds in the microwave. Apparently Suite Foods is a waffle shop in San Francisco that I’m going to have to visit the next time I’m out west.

Suite Foods Sablé Cookie – You’re looking at tonight’s dessert. 🙂 Vanilla Bean and salted cacao nib cookies? These, too, sound amazing.

Rustic Bakery Pecan Cookies – Pecan cookies probably wouldn’t be my first choice (and all of their other boxed cookies look AMAZING), but I have a feeling they’re going to be really tasty with some coffee. Rustic Bakery is apparently an award-winning bakery in California.

cc-made-caramel

CC Made Rosemary Caramel Sauce – Um, yum. Dessert tomorrow is apparently going to be vanilla ice cream with rosemary caramel sauce! Thanks to another subscription box quite a while ago I am slightly familiar with CC Made and receiving this box reminded me of how much I had wanted to try their caramel sauces. Wish fulfilled!

Overall, I am really happy with this box. In fact, it’s the first dessert subscription box I have received that I am completely thrilled with. I’ve tried a few products already and I cannot wait to try the rest of the products that were included.

Taste Trunk costs $28 per month, and they have a few different box specialties from which to choose: Sweets, Gourmet, BBQ, and Health. I canceled my subscription when I realized that I’d forgotten to cancel last month, but I may have to sign up again.
