Birchbox September 2013

As I’ve mentioned the past few months, I haven’t really been thrilled with Birchbox. Last month it got to the point where I was wondering why I was even subscribing at all because it was starting to feel like I was just throwing away $10 each month. I figured I’d give it a few more months, however, to see if they could right the ship.

Different variations of Birchboxes get shipped out to subscribers each month, so I have no idea how every box looked, but I have to say that I’m pretty happy with my box this month!

Except for one little thing… according to the card enclosed with the box I was supposed to receive five products but I only received four! I am missing the Dr. Lipp Original Nipple Balm for Lips, which sounds fantastic. I’m going to call Birchbox later today to request this product, and don’t anticipate that being a problem. (I’ll update you if it is.) I’m not going to hold the missing sample against Birchbox because mistakes happen and the rest of the box was fantastic.

Here’s what I received in my September Birchbox:

Ruffian Nail Polish in Hedge Fund

Ruffian Nail Polish in Hedge Fund – So smitten was I with this nail polish that I had to give myself a quick mani last night! This green is absolutely fantastic, and fits in perfectly with this year’s camo trend. From the images above it appears I got two different nail polishes. Sorry for the color discrepancy! The bottom color that appears on my nails is the actual color.

Dr. Jart+ BB Cream

Dr. Jart+ BB Cream with SPF 45 – I can’t remember if I’ve tried Dr. Jart BB Cream before, but I’m always happy to try a new BB cream!

Amika Blow Up Spray

Amika Blow Up Spray – This mist adds lift and shine to help you create the perfect blow out. I think I’ve received a sample of this before, though I don’t think it was from Birchbox. I haven’t tried this yet… I’m going to have to get on that!

Eyeko Black Magic Mascara

Eyeko Black Magic Mascara – Honestly, Birchbox would probably receive rave reviews from me if they just sent a box of mascara samples each month. I’m a mascara junkie and love trying out new products! I’ve tried other Eyeko products before, but never the mascara so I’m thrilled that this was included in the box.

Even though I was missing a sample I’m still pretty happy with this Birchbox! If every month was similar to this one I’d be a very happy customer. All of the samples were actually “deluxe” samples and they didn’t include any perfume. It was a good month.

Birchbox is a monthly beauty sample box that costs $10. Each month you will receive 4-5 deluxe beauty samples.

  1. That nail polish is great! Also, I got the nipple balm in my box a few months back. It is literally the same lanolin that us nursing mamas use– but with a much higher price tag!
