I admit that I love going to weddings and seeing what types of favors the couple is gifting to their guests. I’m not sure why I enjoy this so much because I certainly don’t think it’s a requirement and in fact I didn’t have wedding favors at my own wedding. I just enjoy the tradition, I guess!
I remember going to a wedding when I was a kid and receiving a small bag of jordan almonds as a wedding favor. Whatever happened to those days? It was so easy and I have to admit that I loved eating those almonds! These days, however, unique wedding favors are the name of the game. Whether it’s a DIY favor or something edible, many couples spend a lot of time, effort and sometimes money putting together a small gift that their guests will enjoy.
If you’re down to the nitty gritty in your own wedding planning, here are 15 unique wedding favors that your guests are sure to love! Even better? Many of them can easily be made into DIY projects, which won’t save you time but will surely save you money!

Were I to receive a city poster as a wedding favor I would TOTALLY hang it in my house! I think this is such a cool idea, though you’ll probably need to have an artsy friend on hand to pull it off. This couple apparently had their posters designed by Hatch Show Print in Nashville.

I am guessing that nearly all of your wedding guests would be happy to wak away with a bit of bubbly for the road! Grand Wine Cellar has a great selection of sparkling wine selections. There are also quite a few places on Etsy where you can purchase personalized mini wine bottle labels.

Wicked Good Cupcakes was featured on Shark Tank makes a few products that would make delicious wedding favors, including pie in a jar, brownies in a jar, cheesecake in a jar and, yes, cupcakes in a jar! Make sure to provide your guests with disposable forks as well so they’ll be able to eat their treat on the road if they want!

I can’t think of any cuter wedding favor for a destination wedding than these Personalized Mini Suitcase Wedding Favors! They’re not huge, but would be perfect for holding some candy.
Did you know that you can create custom Jones Soda labels? (Yes, the company will affix them as well!) It’s not cheap but it could be a super fun option and would definitely be a unique wedding favor!

I’ll admit that I’m biased toward edible wedding favors. After a long night of dancing and revelry, I love heading back to my hotel with a treat in hand that will likely be consumed immediately as my husband and I rehash the night we just enjoyed. The lollipops from Leccare Lollipops come in flavors such as salted caramel, rose & honey, apples & honey, marshmallow & hibiscus, watermelon & pink peppercorn, red velvet, peach cobbler, strawberry wine and many more!

We featured Apropos Roasters earlier this year in a guest post about fair trade weddings, and now, after attending a wedding where Apropos Roasters’ coffee was handed out as a wedding favor I can personally attest that this is a fun idea! My husband and I made the coffee the morning after the wedding and it was the pick-me-up that we needed after a late night out!

For a fall wedding I can think of nothing sweeter than these S’Mores Wedding Favors! While these personalized marshmallows are super cute, this would also be an easy and affordable DIY wedding favor project!

Giving out plants or seeds isn’t a new wedding idea, but I wholeheartedly recommend giving out succulent wedding favors because there’s a good chance that you’ll have someone with a black thumb at your wedding (like me) who will need all the help she can get keeping the plant alive! I think that a favors table filled with plants could be a gorgeous part of your decor, too! You could make a DIY project out of potting the succulents yourself or check out a company like Say I Do Succulents who will do all of the work for you!

Now here’s a unique wedding favor that everyone is sure to love: Scratch-off lottery tickets! While I love this idea and would love to be the big winner myself, is the guest obligated to share with the bride and groom if he/she wins a million dollars?!

My husband and I had a fairly DIY wedding and we skipped having a DJ. Instead, we made a bunch of playlists to play throughout the day. On our wedding RSVP cards we asked our married friends and family what their first dance songs had been and then we played all of those songs over dinner. Compiling something like that, or other favorite songs of the bride and groom, would be a really unique wedding favor that your guests are sure to love! Of course, the times being what they are, you might want to consider putting MP3s on a jump drive instead of a CD. 😉

I don’t think I’ve gone to a wedding that handed out Jam Wedding Favors, but I think it’s a great idea, particularly if it is homemade by the bride and groom or family members. Sure, buying it is absolutely fine too but it’d be a really special treat if it were homemade by the happy couple!
