During the summer, perfume can often be too heavy. I try to switch up my scents depending upon the season, but the lighter body sprays tend to only last for a few hours in warm weather. I went in search of another option in anticipation of the upcoming warm weather (fingers crossed), and stumbled upon Bait Hair Perfume.

Review of Bait Hair Perfume by Shop Girl DailyI have been spraying perfume on the nape of my neck, just at my hairline, for years. I discovered that my perfume lasts longer this way, and as I put my hair up, down, or brush it, the scent disperses into the air. Bait Hair Perfume has created a fragrance finishing spray that is specially formulated for hair- no parabens, sulfates, and it is non-greasy. It actually only contains three ingredients: alcohol, silicone, & fragrance (and no, the alcohol won’t dry out your hair- the volume and concentration of it is very minimal, and the silicone adds a touch of shine). I love the fact that on my second day hair, I can use dry shampoo (which most smell…not so lovely) and finish off with Bait Hair Perfume to keep my hair smelling awesome for 12 hours. YES. This stuff lasts for up to 12 hours- the reason being that hair holds scent better than anywhere on the body.

If you are curious about what a hair perfume would smell like, let me try to describe each of their four scents.

Bait Hair Perfume ReviewSkinny Dipper: “An intoxicating cocktail of coconut, suntan lotion, and pool side aroma”…To me, it smells like sipping on a fresh pina colada while sitting on the beach, and having Hawaiian Tropic oil massaged into your skin.

Heart Breaker: “A sugar rush of pink cotton candy and decadent vanilla cupcake”…To me, it smells like an afternoon at Sprinkles Cupcakes, with swirls of vanilla buttercream frosting.

Femme Fatale: “Exotic forbidden fruits, warm vanilla, and hints of dark amber”…To me, it smells like a country kitchen baking fruit pies with a warm vanilla crust, and a little spice thrown in.

Day Dreamer: “Creamy orange sherbet, coconut, and soft vanilla”…To me, it smells like taking a stroll on the boardwalk, eating one of those amazing orange Creamsicle Popsicles.

If you can’t tell by my descriptions, I loved them all.

Each has a distinct scent with complex bits and pieces of delicious flavors woven in. I tested out each of the scents in my hair over the course of 4 days, and each of them lasted an incredible amount of time. I would spray in as I was heading out the door around 10 a.m. and pop my hair in a bun or ponytail, and could still smell the fragrance when I took my hair down to head to bed (and even a hint of it the following morning).

Bait Hair Perfume- Skinny DipperTo use, you simple spray about 3 spritzes of the perfume into dry, styled hair. They encourage you to flip to your heart’s content to release the fragrance throughout the day. Although at my age I would most likely pull a muscle flipping my hair, I might toss it around a bit.

Prices are incredibly reasonable- a full-size, 50 mL bottle costs $38. Did I mention that the packaging is adorable? These are pearlized glass bottles with black and gold embellishments to match the scent.

Can’t decide? You can order all four full-size bottles for $125, or four sample-size bottles (3 mL each) for $12).

Bait Hair Perfume Mini BottlesOk. Officially in love. Bon voyage and I hope you find your summer scent!
