It’s no surprise that I love vintage anything. So I’m sure you can only imagine my delight when I discovered Vintage Wares! All the items in the shop “are hand-picked and selected based on individual character and unique appeal.” Sounds like my cup of tea!
Speaking of tea….
I love this Purple Pansy Flower Stacking Teapot! Seriously, could this be any more brilliant? It’s a teapot and tea cup in one!
This beautiful vintage porcelain teapot for one would make a beautiful addition to any kitchen. This stunning piece is white with gold trim and has lovely sprays of purple pansy and daisy on the front and back of the teapot, cup and also on the lid. The shop’s owner, Chelly, was kind enough to answer some questions. Enjoy!
1. What has been your favorite vintage find?
My favorite find is the Red Fire truck. It is just so beautifully vintage and is a nice reminder of what was.
2. Where do you find your items?
I find my stuff at flea markets, thrift stores and my new favorite place is the barn yard sale run by the Benedictine nuns once a month at the local Catholic School.
3. When you are looking for items, do you have a particular thing you look for? Or just something that jumps out at you?
I love everything vintage and am always excited to go on a treasure hunt. Over the years I have seen that there are a few favorites like animal figurines, needlepoint kits and vintage toys so I look out for those but am always looking for something new and unique. The thing with flea markets and barn yard sales is that you never know what you will find so I go with an open mind and wait for something that catches my eye. When I shop I look for things that I would display in my own home.
4. What is your favorite item in your shop?
Wow, that’s so hard. I love each and every piece I have but if I had to choose 1 it would be the Native American Cross Stitch/Needlepoint Wall Hanging. It is just such an exquisite piece! The detail is just amazing.
