It’s no surprise that I love vintage anything. So I’m sure you can only imagine my delight when I discovered Vintage Wares! All the items in the shop “are hand-picked  and selected based on individual character and unique appeal.” Sounds like my cup of tea!

Speaking of tea….

Vintage Wares Teapot

I love this Purple Pansy Flower Stacking Teapot! Seriously, could this be any more brilliant? It’s a teapot and tea cup in one!

This beautiful vintage porcelain teapot for one would make a beautiful addition to any kitchen. This stunning piece is white with gold trim and has lovely sprays of purple pansy and daisy on the front and back of the teapot, cup and also on the lid. The 15 oz teapot stacks atop a matching wide-mouthed cup. Simply remove the teapot and pour your tea right into the cup. Perfect for a personal cup of tea, or a great gift for that special tea drinker. In excellent condition with no chips, cracks or scratches. Has a “Nantucket Made in China” stamp on the bottom of the teapot and cup. Measures 5½” tall and 7¼” from spout to handle.

Do you know a little girl that loves to play picnic? Then why not give her this darling little wicker picnic basket! Adorable.

This is such an adorable wicker picnic basket! Has leather straps with Velcro to hold the flaps closed. The inside of the basket is lined with red with white polka dot cotton fabric. The basket has part of a Lady Bug Tea Set –Includes 4 saucers 1 teapot with lid, 1 knife, 3 forks and 3 spoons. The white porcelain set has Lady Bugs on it with” Lady Bug, Lady Bug, fly away home”! Lastly, I’m totally smitten with this Amber Art Glass Candy Dish!

I think this screams retro! You don’t even need to fill it as it’s art on its own! LOVE!

This is a stunning hand blown amber glass pedestal apothecary jar or candy dish! Would look lovely placed in any room. Fill it with your favorite candy or supplies or display as is. In excellent condition with no chips or cracks. The bowl has 2 tiny air bubbles and a scratch or two. Measures 9” high with lid. The opening is 4”wide and the bowl is 4”deep.

The shop’s owner, Chelly, was kind enough to answer some questions. Enjoy!

1. What has been your favorite vintage find?

My favorite find is the Red Fire truck. It is just so beautifully vintage and is a nice reminder of what was.

2. Where do you find your items?

I find my stuff at flea markets, thrift stores and my new favorite place is the barn yard sale run by the Benedictine nuns once a month at the local Catholic School.

3. When you are looking for items, do you have a particular thing you look for? Or just something that jumps out at you?

I love everything vintage and am always excited to go on a treasure hunt. Over the years I have seen that there are a few favorites like animal figurines, needlepoint kits and vintage toys so I look out for those but am always looking for something new and unique. The thing with flea markets and barn yard sales is that you never know what you will find so I go with an open mind and wait for something that catches my eye. When I shop I look for things that I would display in my own home.

4. What is your favorite item in your shop?

Wow, that’s so hard. I love each and every piece I have but if I had to choose 1 it would be the Native American Cross Stitch/Needlepoint Wall Hanging. It is just such an exquisite piece! The detail is just amazing.

Thanks Chelly!
