Once every couple of months I suffer from a debilitating headache. It’s not a migraine and I don’t get physically ill but I literally cannot do anything until the headache has passed and that usually takes the bulk of a day. I got one of those headaches yesterday and it was as miserable as ever. None of my usual remedies – pain reliever, nap, sugar, caffeine – were doing the trick so I pulled on my Bausch + Lomb Therapearl Eye Mask, laid back and dozed off for a little while. Amazingly, where nothing else would touch my headache, this mask actually worked. Seriously!
The Bausch + Lomb Thera Pearl Eye Mask was designed by doctors to combine the powers of hot and cold therapy. You can heat it up in the microwave or place it in the freezer and the gel beads are designed to hold the heat or cold for the doctor-recommended limit of 20 minutes. My headaches tend to cluster behind one of my eyes, so the light pressure from wearing the mask combined with the cooling effect of the beads caused my headache to mostly abate after 15 minutes. Considering everything else that I tried, 15 minutes felt like a miracle!
The mask itself is super soft and pliable, so it will conform to your eye area. The mask is reportedly great for those suffering from dry eyes, puffy eyes, headaches, and more.
I included this product in our 2015 Holiday Gift Guide as a beauty gift. Not only is it one of my favorite gifts of the year but it’s budget-friendly at just $8.99, so it would also make a fabulous stocking stuffer for men or women!
Alternatively, with the craziness of the holiday season fully upon us, I highly recommend treating yourself to one for those days when you need to de-stress! Also, I know I’m not the only one that’s going to need something to help combat eye puffiness after a few too many late nights or too much egg nog consumed! Considering how well this eye mask helped combat my headache yesterday, it has earned a place of honor in my suitcase since we will be on the road so much over the next month. I have a feeling I’m going to be pulling this out quite a bit in the weeks leading up to the end of the year!
