I’ve been keeping a secret the past few months that it’s time to share: My husband and I are expecting a baby this February! I celebrated the news by preparing for the next polar vortex to hit Chicago and stocking up on mommy ‘n me UGGs. (I know, I know – some of you hate the UGGs but I refuse to give them up. And baby UGGs? OMGTOOCUTE… even if they are large enough that the baby won’t actually get to wear them until February 2016.)
Since I tend to type whatever pops into my head at any given moment this has been an incredibly difficult secret to keep these past few months, and it feels so good to finally get things out in the open.
This isn’t going to suddenly turn into a baby blog, though you’ll probably see more baby-related posts from me over on ShopMamaDaily.com. I am, however, going to be doing a few maternity fashion posts, which I’ll talk more about at a later date.
Now though, I just wanted to share our news and explain why I felt like such a terrible blogger this summer. I’ve been *extremely* fortunate that I didn’t suffer from morning sickness, but I have been so ridiculously exhausted for the past few months that there were a few days that I just had to shut my computer and call it a day. All of you that have been pregnant while working real jobs have my utmost respect, because this exhaustion – which I was completely unprepared for – is no joke. Thankfully, hopefully, the exhaustion seems to be waning a bit since I entered my second trimester, and things will get back to normal around here. (Even if I’m the only one who felt like things have been abnormal.)
As for the baby, my husband and I are thrilled (him even more so than me, I think). We’re not going to find out what we’re having ahead of time, though we have names picked out and ready to go whenever we get to meet the little one.
Anyhow, I try to share momentous life occasions, and I knew that if I didn’t share this one soon that it would randomly come out in a post without me even thinking about it. The holiday shopping season is crazy, and this year it’s going to be doubly so. But, I have a feeling it’s going to be the best yet… even if I personally end up spending all of my money on unnecessary baby shoes. 😉
