Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish Hot Cloth Cleanser Starter Kit

It’s time for a weird story. Last month – or maybe it was September – I attended a beauty preview at the Macy’s here in Chicago. I was talking to one of the sales people about one of her beauty products and she instructed me to touch her face so I could see how good it made her skin feel. Now I know this is weird, but I tend to do as I’m instructed, so I touched her cheek and my first thought was “HOLY MOLY why is her skin so soft?!” If you’re anything like me, I’m assuming that you don’t touch many other adult women’s faces, so I had no idea skin could be that soft. I don’t mean to imply that I have gross skin because I don’t think I do, but I just knew my skin was not THAT soft.

Gift Guide Spotlight

Jump forward a few weeks and I was asked to review the Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish Hot Cloth Cleanser Starter Kit, which is now available at Birchbox for $24.50. Liz Earle is a British beauty company that recently made its way to the States. In addition to the starter kit I received the Liz Earle Instant Boost Skin Tonic ($23.90) and the Liz Earle Skin Repair Moisturiser ($39.90). Normally I don’t love doing reviews of skincare products because I’ve been very vocal here about the products that I love and I have stuck with these products for years and years. When I do a review the products need to really stack up to the products I’m currently using or the review is probably not going to be that great. That said, I’d heard such good things about the Liz Earle system that I decided to give it a fair three week trial to see how it worked.

Let’s just say that after ONE use I was hooked on these products. Hooked as in it has been a full three-weeks since I’ve used the products I’ve been using for a decade. I consider myself extremely loyal when it comes to my beauty routine, so this is a really big deal.

Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish is unlike any other face cleanser I’ve ever used. It is comprised of all-natural ingredients such as beeswax, eucalyptus oil, glycerin, hops extract, cocoa butter, and chamomile extract. You rub the cleanser all over your face and neck and then use the provided muslin cloth to wipe it off. The cleanser takes everything off your skin (including waterproof makeup) and the slight abrasiveness of the muslin cloth helps remove dead skin cells. Afterwards you apply the tonic to your face followed by the moisturizer. The first night I did this I was positively amazed. I followed the routine and you know how my skin felt? Like the lady’s skin at Macy’s. So SO soft.

Since I’ve been using this system I have been constantly amazed at how my skin looks and feels. Not only is my skin soft, but I honestly feel like it is glowing. It feels healthier than I ever would have imagined possible.

Per the instructions you are supposed to use the system twice per day, but I am only using it once per day. I have super sensitive skin and a dermatologist once recommended that washing my face just once per day was more than enough, so I’m still following that guidance.

In all of the years I have been blogging this is one of my favorite items I’ve had the opportunity to review. I’m so glad I took a chance to try out the Liz Earle system and I can’t recommend it more highly!

Liz Earle products are currently available for purchase from the Birchbox Store.

    1. So happy to hear you like it as well! I am generally kind of “meh” about skincare products but was so pleasantly surprised by this one!
