Ever since her show went off the air I’ve been pretty tough on Oprah’s favorite things. The past couple of years the gift suggestions just seemed to get more expensive, impractical and inaccessible. You know, it seemed like a gift list curated by one of the richest women in the world. 😉
This year, however, I have to say that I’m genuinely interested in many of the items that made it onto the list of Oprah’s Favorite Things 2016.
Ready to do some holiday shopping? Here are a few of Lisa’s favorite things, curated from Oprah’s Favorite Things.
I have had my eye on the Fitbit Alta ($149.95) since it was first released because it has so many great features but it is also one of their smallest fitness trackers. It tracks steps, calories burned, active minutes, sleep, and you can also get call, text and calendar notifications. Another feature I like? You can quickly change out the bands for lots of different fun colors. Replacement bands cost just $6.80 at Amazon.
I’m pretty no-fuss when it comes to lip products, so I love that this new product from Tarte is a two-in-one product. The Tarte Kissing Squad Limited-Edition Lip Sculptor Quad ($34) comes with four different products, each of which features a lipstick on one end and a coordinating gloss on the other!
- Lip Scultpor Lipstick in Kitten (nude) (0.12 oz)
- Lip Scultpor Lip Gloss in Kitten (nude) (0.06 oz)
- Lip Scultpor Lipstick in Minx (dark nude) (0.12 oz)
- Lip Scultpor Lip Gloss in Minx (dark nude) (0.06 oz)
- Lip Scultpor Lipstick in Flirt (berry) (0.12 oz)
- Lip Scultpor Lip Gloss in Flirt (berry) (0.06 oz)
- Pixie Lipstick (mauve berry) (0.12 oz)
- Lip Scultpor Lip Gloss in Pixie (mauve berry) (0.06 oz)
The Kindle Oasis‘ $289.99 price tag is definitely not budget-friendly, but man does it look like a beautiful way to read ebooks! Amazon brought back the button that lets you quickly turn the page (something that is sorely missed from my Kindle Paper White), and it boasts an incredible battery. The leather charging cover can help it retain a charge for MONTHS.
How adorable are these Fringe by Em John Keychains ($16 each)? They’d make a fun option for the person who has everything!
I’m not going to lie: I’m pregnant and the bulk of my diet is carb-licious. I can’t get enough macaroni and cheese at the moment, and I’m sure I’m not the only one binge eating pasta products. This Bialetti 5 Quart Pasta Pot ($29.99) would be a great option for anyone from college kids to newlyweds to new home owners to your favorite preggo who is tired of searching for a strainer whenever she wants to make a pot of mac and cheese. (No worries if you’re not a fan of purple cookware as it’s available in a few different shades.)
This Travel Pillow Organizer ($34.99) would be an awesome gift for those on your shopping list who love to rack up the frequent flier miles! The pillow is made from memory foam and it features “2 zippered pockets, 2 open pockets, snap tab to hold earphone cord in place, washable cover, elastic straps to hold panels in place, and snap tab to attach to carry-on luggage.” They’ve really thought of everything with this travel pillow! It’s also available in a few different colors.
Are these the world’s cutest mini bluetooth speakers ($24.99) or what?! According to the amazing reviews it receives on Amazon, it provides great sound quality and lets you use Bluetooth to remotely activate your camera to take photos and videos.
If someone on your shopping list prefers growing their own vegetables to buying them, an Organic Grow Kit ($24.99-$26.99) could be a great gift! Using containers that are made from 100% recycled tea bags, you can grow anything from mint to tomatoes. All kits come with soil and seeds and can be used to grow vegetables indoors year-round.
Initially, I thought a Potato Chip Gift Crate ($35) was a pretty silly idea until I realized that I have a few friends who would LOVE to receive this gift. The crate comes with 8 packages of chips in the following flavors: Onion & Celery, Sea Salt, Lemon Pepper, Barbecue. Of course… a potato chip gift wouldn’t be all that hard to replicate, and you could probably do it for cheaper, but I love the idea!
I’m mostly including this Southern Grit Trio ($45) on this list because it’s the gift I’d most like to receive (other than the Kindle Oasis, of course). I adore grits and hate that our local grocery stores only sell quick grits, which are basically little pebbles of cardboard. This gift set comes with three different flavors: original, garlic & herb, and truffle and sea salt.
I wouldn’t mind finding a pair of these gorgeous Whitten Stud Earrings ($72) under the tree on Christmas morning! I think the amethyst studs are my favorite, but I’d be happy with any (or all) of them!
Your favorite foodie and/or pancake connoisseur may love this Barrel-Aged and Infused Maple Syrup Gift Set ($69.95). The set comes with three 250ml bottles syrup in the following flavors: Bourbon Barrel-Aged, Cinnamon + Vanilla Infused, and Hibiscus Flower Infused Maple Syrup. I think I need all of these in my life.
Last year I splurged and bought myself a Barefoot Dreams Bamboo Cardigan and it is AMAZING. It’s seriously the softest thing I own and I live in it all winter long. As a result, I have to agree with Oprah that a Barefoot Dreams Bamboo Chic Lite Circle Cardi ($116-$119) would make an awesome gift. This cardigan is a little more tailored than mine and it has POCKETS, which makes it that much better. Each cardigan is available in sizes XS-3X.
There was no way this preggo wasn’t going to include a biscuit mix. Biscuits would go perfect with a side of mac and cheese, don’t you think? This Big Bottom Market Biscuit Mix and Honey Gift Set ($22) would be such a fun hostess gift, or great gift to bring along if you’re visiting someone out of town this holiday season! The kit makes 9 biscuits and comes with a 4oz jar of orange blossom honey.
Oh hey, look who’s ahead of the trend?! You might recognize these Major Moto by Sorel Boots ($180) were just included in the list of chic plaid items I just pulled together. It looks like Amazon might have been sold out of this version that’s lined in buffalo plaid fleece, but you can still grab it from Shopbop.
