PopSugar Must Have Summer Fun Box Review
The PopSugar Must Have Summer Fun Box was announced what feels like forever ago! I waited at least 8 weeks for this box to arrive (and then another week because FedEx pulled some tomfoolery where my box was shipped to Chicago… and then up to Wisconsin… before returning to Chicago yesterday). The PopSugar Must Have Summer Fun Box was a limited edition box that cost $100 (!!!). Normally I would never consider paying $100 for any of these boxes, but I really wanted to see what one of the PopSugar Must Have limited edition boxes was all about.
Here’s what I received:
House of Harlow 1960 Tilda Aviator Sunglasses (currently selling for $115 at Stefani Bags) – I don’t think these sunglasses are a perfect shape for my face, but I’ll still wear them plenty this summer. The rounded nose bridge and the high gold bar at the top of the sunglasses is really throwing me off.
S’Well Bottle ($35)- I think the item I am most excited about is this S’Well Bottle. I’d never heard of this brand of bottle before, but it is designed to keep cold beverages cold for 24 hours and hot beverages hot for 12 hours. I will definitely get tons of use out of this bottle this summer!
Vitabath Fresh Citrus Twist Exfoliating Sugar Scrub ($18) – I’ve never tried any Vitabath products so I’m looking forward to seeing what this brand is about! I love anything with a citrus scent.
Henri Bendel Lilac Candle ($30) – I am so excited to finally have something from Henri Bendel! (I’m such a dork.) I was a little wary of this candle because normally I find floral scented candles to be overpowering. This candle is very mild, however, and smells quite lovely. Perhaps violet will be our new spring scent?
Sachin + Babi Baroque Print Foulard Sarong (price unknown) – This is a cute print, but in all likelihood I won’t end up using it. I’ve just never found myself in need of a sarong before so I doubt I’ll be needing/using this now.
Truffle Classic Clarity Pouch ($38) – Though this is a relatively simple item, I’m really excited about it! What’s nice about this pouch is that it’s waterproof (and sand proof), so if you’re spending a day at the beach you can pack the stuff you don’t want to get disgusting into this pouch and keep it safe! We’re heading to the Caribbean next month and this pouch will definitely be going with me!
Starbucks Refreshers ($5.95) – Back when Starbucks Refreshers first launched my local store was giving away samples. I tried the lime flavor and despised it. I haven’t tried the Very Berry Hibiscus flavor, so my hopes are high that I’ll enjoy this flavor. I do love beverage packets like this because I tend to carry a few of them in my purse at all times.
As I state in the video PopSugar Must Have Summer Fun Box review below, I like most of the items in this box however it is not what I was expecting at all. The regular PopSugar Must Have Box does such a great job curating beauty products and good reads, that I was totally expecting some fun summer nail polish, sunscreen, summer beauty products, a steamy beach read or two… I would say that most of the items I received in this box are more functional than they are “fun.” That said, the retail value of these items is way beyond the $100 I paid for the box, so that’s a bonus!
Would I purchase the PopSugar Must Have Summer Fun Box again? No, probably not. I know you may read the review of the products above and be confused by this, but none of these products are items I would have purchased for myself, or felt like I was missing in my life. I have a feeling I may really love the water bottle and the clear pouch, but that’s about it. I’ve been happier with some of the regular PopSugar Must Have boxes, and those cost $65 less. I appreciate the quality of the items sent, but I think at the end of the day this box just wasn’t as amazing as I’d hoped it would be.
Did you receive a PopSugar Must Have Summer Fun Box? If so, do you agree with my PopSugar Must Have Summer Fun Box review or do you think I’m completely off base?
