From the Lab

You know, this is the third month that I’ve received a From the Lab Beauty Explorer Box and yet it is my first time reviewing the box. ALL of the boxes I’ve received have been awesome and filled with quality products! Though I haven’t yet tried and am not reviewing the products that came in the August box, I was amazed at just how much product was included.

From the Lab is a little different from some of the other subscription boxes in that they send out their own products. From the Lab works with scientists and clinicians to develop their own beauty products that are comparable to the high-end beauty products found in stores. According to From the Lab, “Our beauty editors and advisors meet with the top cosmetic labs in the world to bring you small, limited lab runs of the most innovative beauty products up to 18 months before they’re in retail stores.” The opportunity to try out new products like this in a subscription format is pretty awesome!

From the Lab products are paraben-free and are not tested on animals.

Here’s what I received in my August From the Lab Beaty Explorers Box:

From the Lab August 2014

This month From the Lab sent out the Summer Essentials Collection 2, which contained the following products:

Hair Cleanser No. 724 – According to the description, this cleanser features a “combination of healing oils and patented stem cell technology” that cleans, conditions, detangles, eliminates frizz, and minimizes straight ends. This cleanser is formulated without sulfates and will not get sudsy. It is apparently so gentle that it can be used as a face or body wash.

Body Serum No. 580 – Apparently the ingredients in this body serum are some of the same that are used in fancy spas in Switzerland, including Swiss thermal water! I’ve never used a body serum before and apparently serums can penetrate deeper into the skin  because they are comprised of smaller molecules than moisturizers.

Face Scrub No. 597 – This face scrub gently removes debris from skin, but it is also packed with “healing actives” that will help soothe and moisturize.

I’m looking forward to trying out all of these products, though I have to admit that I am most intrigued by the body serum!

The From the Lab Beauty Explorer Box costs $29.95 per month, including shipping. Thus far I have received all types of beauty products – including lipstick, hair products, and skincare products – and everything I have received has been high-quality and seemingly worth more than the cost of the subscription. I can’t wait to see what they send out next… and I promise to review it, too, and not keep the goodness to myself.
