Like the PopSugar Must Have Box, Glossybox has also really stepped up their game in 2014. This used to be a box that I was a little “meh” on, but they’ve really impressed me over the past few months! (It all already has me wondering which box will prove to be the best of 2015?!) While PopSugar has continued to send boxes that make me feel as though I’m celebrating a birthday each and every month, Glossybox has done a tremendous job of introducing me to new brands and filling their box with top-quality products each month.
The December box was no different.
Here’s what I received in the December Glossybox:
Ciaté Mini Paint Pot in All Aglow – While this is a deluxe sample, it did inspire me to paint my nails immediately! Y’all know how much I love glitter nail polish, and this gold color is amazing. (Apparently it has flecks of red glitter, too?) This is the first time I’ve tried polish from Ciaté and while I like the way the polish applied and the way it looks, I have one small complaint: As a polish that’s made almost entirely of glitter, it flecks off quite easily, even after a top coat is applied. I took the photo above the day after polishing my nails and you can see that some of the glitter has already flecked off my index finger. That said, I think this is a great holiday polish and plan on reapplying before Christmas!
Toni & Guy Leave In Conditioner ($16.99) – Full Size Product! – One of the various boxes has sent a Toni & Guy product before that I didn’t end up using but I will definitely make use of leave-in conditioner! My mess of curls needs all the extra moisture they can get and apparently this product helps to “tame frizz and improve manageability.” Sold!
Bellápierre Cosmetics Mineral Lipstick in Burlesque ($19.99) – Full Size Product! – When I first opened this tube of lipstick I thought for sure it was red and it was only after looking at this picture, and then reading the product description, did I realize that this is actually a fuchsia lipstick. (If you can’t tell, I’m a bit burnt out on all of the red lipsticks that the subscriptions boxes have sent out this year.) I’m intrigued by this color and may give it a whirl on our next date night.
Nuxe Masque Crème Fraîche de Beauté ($32) – Full Size Product! – I am still using my DIY green tea coconut oil moisturizer each day and while I am seriously in love with it, the other day I noticed a small dry patch on my face. I’ve been wondering what to do about it, and here’s the answer: I’m going to apply this mask later today! According to the description, “this hypoallergenic mask provides up to 24 hours of intensive relief from winter weather.” It also hydrates skin “fast” and is a “skin-calming rescue treatment.” It sounds like the perfect remedy for what’s already turning into a bitterly cold Chicago winter.
Rituals Cosmetics Miracle Scrub in Ginseng and Ginkgo Biloba ($17) – Full Size Product! – I see a lot of beauty products, but why is this the first time that I recall seeing a specific “hand scrub”? My hands have been so dry that I cannot wait to put this to use!
Overall: I have absolutely zero complaints, which means we are two for two on awesome boxes in the month of December! (Are these boxes spoiling us or what?!) As I’ve mentioned before I tend to give away many of the products I receive in subscription boxes (there is just not enough time in the day!) but I can’t wait to put ALL of these products to use… or, you know, continue using the nail polish! The overall retail value of this box, which contained FOUR full-sized products, is approximately $85. Not bad for a box that only costs $21!
Glossybox Coupon: If you’re interested in subscribing to Glossybox, you’ll get a FREE full-size container of Face Stockholm Eye Dust ($22 retail value) when you enter code “SPARKLE” at checkout! This offer is valid for a limited time only.
Just a reminder: The AMAZING Glossybox Holiday Box is still available for purchase for $40. It’s truly a wonderful box!
