The Rundown: Your Shopping Cheat Sheet

Happy Mother’s Day to all of the moms, grandmas, aunts, friends, and caregivers out there! I hope you’ve all got something awesome planned this weekend, even if it’s something as simple as laying in bed for a few extra moments. That’s what I wanted to do this morning, but I have a general rule that if my baby wakes up hungry anytime after 4 a.m., then it’s time for me to get up for the day. I sat there in bed for a few minutes contemplating a few more minutes of sleep, but the days are short and there’s too much to do!

We are, however, packing up the whole family on Sunday to go to brunch. Wish us luck – it’ll be our first restaurant outing with just the four of us.

Have a great weekend!

Rosé All Day

Rose All Day Hat

Ready to show your allegiance to the most popular of summer wines? This Rosé All Day Straw Hat ($64) from Shop White Elephant on Etsy ought to do it! These straw hats have been around for a couple of summers now, but they’re as popular as ever and for good reason. In addition to the sun-shielding benefits, they’re the perfect photo accessory!

Speaking of Rosé…

Simpler Wine Cans from Trader Joe's

Have you seen Simpler Wines at your local Trader Joe’s? It’s wine in a can that costs just $1 per can. I obviously like the price tag and the only thing better is that the wine is actually tasty! My Trader Joe’s only had the White in-stock, but Rosé is also available, so be on the lookout! It’s the perfect thing to bring to a summer BBQ, or just to have on hand to celebrate the fact that it’s Friday. It would also, I should add, make a great last-minute Mother’s Day gift!

Dreaming of the Beach

Lake Life Tote from JaneWhere I’m from in Michigan, everyone spent the summer going “up north.” Lots of my friends had lake houses that their families would go to, or you could do what my family always did and rent someone else’s lake house. (Which, by the way, I have no idea how my parents set things like that up in the time before Airbnb, VRBO, or Homeaway existed!) Anyhow, this Lake Life Foil Tote that’s on sale at Jane brought me right back to my “up north” summers, which is something I’m hoping to introduce my kids to at some point. (I think this column from The New York Times pretty accurately describes how many of us transplanted Michiganders feels about the state.)

Printed Keyhole One-Piece Swimsuit

You know what else would be perfect for summer days spent beachside? This Printed Keyhole One Piece Swimsuit ($22.99) that’s also available at Jane. It’s adorable!

Starbucks Happy Hour is Back!

Starbucks Happy Hour

Fantastic news fellow Starbucks lovers! Happy Hour is back and through May 14, 2017, you can enjoy half off fraps between 3-6 p.m. each afternoon. The best part (to me, at least)? The S’mores frap is back! That thing is delicious, but so rich that I can only have like one a year. But that one is amazing… and even better when it’s half off!
