Urban Decay Naked on the Run

You may recall that one of the items on my personal holiday wish list was the new Urban Decay Naked on the Run Palette, which was released right before the holidays. I hadn’t tried any of the other Urban Decay Naked products, but knew that I HAD to have this palette because it seemed ideal for travel.

This palette comes with the following products:

– Eye shadows in Dive (metallic rose/gold micro-shimmer), Fix (soft taupe matte), Resist (medium metallic taupe), Dare (medium brown matte), Stun (metallic bronze/light gold micro-shimmer)
– All-over eye shadow in 5050 (cool bisque satin)
– Bronzer (medium bronze matte)
– Blush (vibrant pink/light shimmer)
– Full-Size Naked Ultra Nourishing Gloss lip gloss in Sesso (rose/pink shimmer)
– Perversion mascara in Blackest Black
– 24/7 Glide-On eye pencil

While I know I could use the palette anytime, I immediately packed it into my suitcase and the first opportunity I had to pull it out was the weekend of my baby shower. I suppose it was kind of risky to not really play with it ahead of time, but the colors provided are totally within the range of my usual color picks so I knew I wouldn’t have an issue.

Overall: I really love this palette! You can see above that the “look” I was able to create was perfectly natural… but better. I was obviously wearing makeup, but it wasn’t too over-the-top. My favorite inclusions in the palette are the All-Over Eye Shadow in 5050 (a great base!), Resist, and the lip gloss. I’m also a big fan of Urban Decay’s Perversion Mascara (link is to my review), but I have known that ever since receiving a sample in the mail. The only product I don’t love, unfortunately, is the mascara. For whatever reason this brand of mascara always runs so I constantly found myself blotting underneath my eyes to prevent having raccoon eyes. I will likely replace this eyeliner with another sample that I have on hand.

This particular occasion called for a fresh face, but I can’t wait to play with this palette to see what else I can do in the future. The eyeshadow colors provided are definitely versatile enough to create more dramatic looks when needed.

I think this is a great palette to keep in a suitcase or to have in your purse for on-the-go beauty needs. It has a little bit of everything and completely eliminates the need to carry around lots of individual products!

The Urban Decay Naked on the Run Palette is $54 at Sephora.

In case you’re wondering, I completed the look using two of my all-time favorite beauty products, Pür Minerals CC Cream (of course!) and Tarte CC Undereye Corrector.
