Your trip is planned, your bags, are packed and your tickets have been purchased. You are all set to have a wonderful time at Disneyland with your kids. However, you might find yourself wondering what exactly do you need to take with you to have an amazing Disneyland adventure with kids? Everything You'll Need for One Day at Disneyland
Sunglasses
The California sun means you will likely have beautiful weather for your day at the park, but it also means that you will want to bring along your sunglasses. You probably already have a favorite pair of sunglasses, but what about for your kiddos? These kids’ sunglasses are unbreakable, comfortable, and affordable. You may also want to pick up a pack of these sunglass straps for the whole family so that you don’t have to worry about anyone losing their glasses on a ride.
External Phone Charger
You will probably be using your phone a LOT while you are enjoying your time in the park from taking photos and videos to using the MyDisney Experience app for fast pass reservations and ordering food from restaurants. This can take a toll on your cellphone battery and leave you with no charge at the end of a long day. Pack an external phone charger like this one in your park bag and keep a full charge all day long.
SD Card
Speaking of your phone, you may want to pack an extra SD card for your phone or camera so that you don’t have to worry about running out of room for your pictures and videos. A trip to Disneyland is a special experience for you and your family and you will want to have lots of pictures and videos to remember it.
Poncho
Generally, the weather in California is sunny but they do get the occasional rain shower. While they do sell ponchos inside of the park you will pay a premium price for them. So why not just be prepared just in case and pack one of these ponchos for each family member in your park bag. They can also come in handy on any water rides you might like to try.
Water Bottle
All of the Disney parks allow you to carry in a water bottle that you can refill at water fountains around the park throughout your visit. If you need ice you can ask at any of the counter service restaurants. A plastic water bottle like this one is perfect for a day at Disneyland. It has a nice handle that you can attach to your backpack and it comes in a variety of colors.
Ziploc Bags
Before heading out to the park, you will want to put Ziploc bags in a variety of sizes inside of your park bag. You can use these bags to hold wet clothes, leftover food, and even to keep your cell phone from getting wet on a water ride if you don’t have a waterproof case for it.
Temporary Safety Tattoos
Did you know that you can get customizable safety tattoos with your phone number on them to put on your kids before you head to the park? Hopefully, they will never need them, but these temporary tattoos can be a lifesaver if your child accidentally gets separated from you at a large park like Disneyland. These tattoos come in different designs, but one of them is Mickey Mouse himself!
Snacks
There is a ton of food and snacks to choose from at Disneyland, but if you are looking to save a few dollars you may want to pack at least a few snacks from home. You are allowed to take food inside of the park as long as it is not in a glass container so these take and toss bowls are perfect. If you are looking to take a little more substantial snack in like a do-it-yourself Lunchable then you might try some of these containers.
Jacket or Hoodie
The days in Disneyland are usually warm and comfortable, if not downright hot, but the evenings can cool off pretty quickly once the sun starts to go down. If you plan on being in the park after dark you should probably have a hoodie or jacket for each member of the family that you can either put in your backpack or tie around your waist.
Backpack
You are going to need something to carry all of your necessary items for your day at Disneyland, and a water-resistant backpack like this one can come in handy. Not too large, but spacious enough to hold what you need for the day. You can also get a backpack for your kids so they can carry their own jacket, water bottle, and snacks. Cooling Fans and Towels
Disneyland can be pretty warm during the day, especially if your trip is during the summertime. You can buy cooling towels and battery-operated water misting fans in the park, but they can be quite costly. Why not just purchase some ahead of your trip and pack them in your backpack for the park?
Glow Sticks
Speaking of items that you could buy in the park, what about glow sticks? Park vendors will have tons of glow sticks and other glow-in-the-dark memorabilia for sale at dusk and your kids will probably want to join in on the fun, but why not bring in some of your own and save yourself a small fortune? You can get glow sticks online or at nearly any dollar store, even if you want to get a special glow stick like this princess wand, it will probably be less expensive outside of the park.
Miscellaneous
There are a few other items that you will need to enjoy one day at Disneyland with your kids, but don’t worry because they will easily fit inside of your backpack. The sun is usually shining in Disneyland and even if it isn’t you can get a sunburn on a cloudy day so you will want to make sure that you have plenty of sunscreen. You should also carry some lip balm, and a small first aid kit with medication in case anyone has any aches and pains or blisters.
An extra pair of socks, a change of clothing (especially for younger children), some handi-wipes, hand sanitizer, and even a pair of flip flops for water rides may also come in handy. None of these items will take up much space in your bag, but they could make your day a lot more enjoyable.
