Finding new work clothing can be a drag, but the MM.LaFleur Bento Box experience makes shopping for office-appropriate attire downright fun!

I do most of my clothes shopping online now and it has been that way for a while. Even though online retailers weren’t necessarily designed for it, I’d buy whatever I liked and then send back whatever didn’t fit. This process is fine, of course, but paying for things that I won’t keep and then waiting to get a refund is a bit of a pain. That’s why I’ve been excited to see clothing box companies excel. You take a survey, they send you a box of clothes, and you only pay for what you decide to keep.

While there are plenty of options for casual clothing, and even for cocktail dresses, there aren’t many clothing box companies that are focused on one thing and one thing only: Business Apparel.

That’s where the MM.LaFleur Bento Box comes in to play.

MM.LaFleur Bento Box

While MM.LaFleur has an online store – and a few showrooms across the country – the MM.LaFleur Bento Box is amazing. The experience begins with a quick survey that asks you some questions about your typical work wardrobe, your job title, where you typically shop and your body type.  After you complete the survey, a stylist will curate a box full of beautiful and luxurious work-appropriate attire. You can try the clothes on in the comfort of your own home and only keep the items you love. But, I should warn you: You should be prepared to love everything.

MM.LaFleur Logo RectangleI recently had the opportunity to try out the MM.LaFleur Bento Box experience and I was honestly blown away. Their stylists understood what I was looking for – a couple of outfits to wear to the random blogging-related events I attend that have an emphasis on the color black – and they also pushed me outside of my comfort zone a bit.

I’ll be frank: If you’re looking for budget-friendly work attire, MM.LaFleur probably isn’t an ideal option. But if you’re looking for high-quality and, dare I say, luxurious clothing that’s available to women wearing both plus and traditional sizes, you need to try an MM.LaFleur bento box.

What I received in my MM.LaFleur Bento Box

As I opened my MM.LaFleur bento box, it felt like the clothing just kept coming! I had so many options from which to choose, all of which you can see below.

The Didion Top

This top was absolutely darling and had fantastic details, like the dainty square button on the back.

Also worth noting is that all MM.LaFleur clothes have a tag encouraging you to email your stylist if you have any questions.

Deneuve Top

I wanted to love this top so much. Well, I do love it so much. I love the style, the color, and how the material drapes. What I don’t love is how it looked on me. After having two babies, my stomach is my problem area and this shirt just doesn’t hang low enough for my comfort.

The Rachel Dress - Chevron Stripe

The Rachel Dress – Chevron Stripe

For some reason, trying to photograph this dress wasn’t working out for me. The color, fig, was nearly impossible to showcase so my apologies for that. Bad photography skills aside, I was shocked by how much I loved this dress! Frankly, after having two kids, I didn’t think a sheath dress would ever be in my future again. The Rachel made me think twice about that assumption. The thick textured Ponte fabric clung to my curves in all the right places. It was flattering and amazing.

Foster Pant from MM.LaFleur

The Foster Pant

So, yeah. That pretty much sums it up, I think. These pants feel like yoga pants but they don’t look like yoga pants at all. They have plenty of stretch but they fit your curves perfectly (and not scandalously) and they don’t get saggy throughout the day. You can pair them with some heels and wear them to the office. Or, you could wear them with sneakers or flats for brunch or a night on the town. Personally, I just wore them for family pictures. These pants are made of a “thick Italian cotton blend,” and since I don’t know a thing about fabric, I have to imagine that means “best pants ever.”

The Cobble Hill Skirt

While many of the items included in my MM.LaFleur bento box were stretchy and didn’t feel too businessy, The Cobble Hill Skirt definitely felt like proper office attire. The skirt features darting that makes it figure flattering.

My apologies: It was also difficult to properly capture the green color of this dress! I loved that they sent a green dress, but unfortunately, this dress wasn’t made of the same stretchy material that the Rachel dress was so it didn’t fit.

The Sant Ambroeus Jardigan

Jardigan from MM.LaFleur

The Sant Ambroeus Jardigan

I’d never seen anything quite like the jardigan before. Jardigan = jacket + cardigan. It was a thick material but it also had delicate accents, like on the wrist area. This would be a great item to keep in a chilly office, especially since it’s wrinkle-free.

My Favorite Items from my MM.LaFleur Bento Box

After I oohed and aahed over everything I received in my box, I settled on two favorite outfits.

Lisa Koivu MM.LaFleur Rachel Dress

I was honestly shocked by how much I loved the MM.LaFleur Rachel Dress. I thought it would be an OK dress before I tried it on, but once I put it on I didn’t want to take it off. It’s comfortable and figure-flattering. Also, I love the color. I typically wear black, but this fig color makes it more interesting.

If you couldn’t tell from above, I also LOVE The Foster Pant. I’ll probably wear them anytime I leave my house this fall or winter. They’re comfortable, flattering, and they go with anything. If I worked in a traditional office I would be all about The Didion Top. I think it’s beautiful, but it doesn’t fit my lifestyle right now.

I was incredibly impressed by my MM.LaFleur Bento Box. My work style is a little unorthodox right now, but the stylist nailed it and sent pieces that I will definitely wear time and again. I probably would have kept everything if I still had an office job! It seems kind of embarrassing to say, but I’m not sure I’ve ever worn clothes that are as high of quality as those that I received from MM.LaFleur. I used the descriptor above and I’ll say it again: Everything felt so luxurious!

If you need new work clothes but the thought of going to a store fills you with dread, or perhaps you’re just looking for styles that nobody else in your office will be wearing, I highly recommend trying out the MM.LaFleur Bento Box experience. Regardless of your size or personal work style, I think you’ll find something you love!
