Plus Size Secret Fit Belly Super Stretch Boot Cut Maternity Jeans – $44.98 at Destination Maternity // Plus Size Short Sleeve Scoop Neck Drape Front Maternity T Shirt – $34.98 at Destination Maternity (received c/o)
From about 8 weeks on in this pregnancy, I stopped feeling comfortable wearing “regular” jeans. I mostly lived in yoga pants until finally deciding that I needed something a little nicer and picked up a pair of plus size maternity jeans from one of the only stores that sells them, Destination Maternity.
Destination Maternity has 8 pairs of plus size maternity jeans, and I ended up getting the Plus Size Secret Fit Belly Super Stretch Boot Cut Maternity Jeans, which are available in sizes 1X-3X. I'm wearing a 1X here and while I've never bought jeans on that sizing scale, I think they run quite large. I actually had to pay more to get these jeans tailored than I've ever paid for a pair of jeans before. Not only did I have to get a few inches chopped off the bottom, but I had to have the legs taken in quite a bit because they were incredibly roomy on me. Now, however, they're the perfect length and the perfect fit, and I'm not going to lie – maternity belly jeans are ridiculously comfortable. I am hoping that these will hold up over the course of the next six months.
As for the Plus Size Short Sleeve Scoop Neck Drape Front Maternity T Shirt (also available in sizes 1X-3X and I'm wearing a 1X), I don't know what special fabrics are reserved for maternity clothing, but this is easily the most comfortable shirt I have ever owned. It is so ridiculously soft! The cut of the tee also does an amazing job of emphasizing my own baby belly (that looks much larger than I thought it was), so there's really no question about whether I'm having a baby. While I paired this tee with the jeans here, I've also worn it with leggings, which gives it a much more casual vibe.
While I wasn't sure people could tell before, I put this outfit on and felt like it was immediately obvious that I was pregnant, which I have to admit was kind of a weird feeling. After a couple of months of not telling anyone, there's absolutely no hiding the truth now.
